Reactions to Sarah Connor Chronicles?

So, what did people think of the series premiere of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"? I rather liked it, though I think Summer Glau is getting extremely typecast as the "girl-who-kicks-ass" in every other TV show. Not that I mind, understand - she's good at it - but I feel a little sorry for any actor who gets so pigeon-holed.

But I was a little confused about the chronology of the series. By now, it seems like all John Connor will be doing in the future is sending Terminators back in time to combat SkyNet...
