I am finding out that Americans tend to think of one specific 'L' word as particularly nasty. What is this 'L' word? Liberal.

That's right, the people that believe changes need to be made and that this country could be better, are ostracized daily. And why? I have no damn clue! Considering i am a liberal, and do believe things need to be different, I cannot answer what the problem is with our way of thinking.

Liberal views think gays should be allowed to marry. The War in Iraq, and the Bush administration in general, is just wrong. The environment and education should take priority over illegal and un-constitutional laws. Now that i look at these few topics, I have to agree. Us liberals are just way off base.

For those of you who consider liberals the 'enemy', I want you to go back to a simpler time. When segregation was legal and women couldn't vote. Or maybe you'd prefer being controlled by a power-hungry king. These things only changed because of liberals at the time.

Some of these facts are ones that I've learned over the years so I no longer remember who the original source is. Otherwise, these are details that I've noticed. And if you happen to know any more interesting bits about the Daily Show, please do share!

1. Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert provided the voices for the Ambiguously Gay Duo, the TV Funhouse show that was on SNL. Listen to the voices while watching a clip, and see whether you identify who is speaking for Ace and Gary.

2. Though Fonda's makeout with Colbert was distinctive, her sitting on his lap wasn't. Gillian Anderson once sat on Jon Stewart's lap for a Daily Show promo. Of course, they knew each other well, acting as a couple in the movie "Playing by Heart".

3. Stephen Colbert wants the capital of Wisconsin to be changed from Madison to Stevens Points (an actual city in WI). This was revealed when Ben Karlin, ex-producer of the Daily Show and Colbert Report, gave a talk at UW-Madison...
