Tonight, I would like to dedicate this Fanpoppy to God. It is he who has shown me how to demonstrate compassion to others and given me the patience and strength to persevere when it seems like I have come to the end of my rope. Because of him I have the capacity to love every one of you. You are all in my prayers.
First I want to thank all of you that took the time to nominate me for this award (specifically, MayBeAStarbucks, Cinders, Idahovandalfan, Chel, KnifeWrench, DarkSarcasm, and SpasticNature). The words you wrote about me touched my heart and warmed my soul. It makes me happy to know that I have had a positive effect on each of you, because all of you have had a positive effect on me.
Secondly I want to send a special thanks to the committee who choose me to receive this award (Blisslikethis, Dazl, and Hooch_is_Crazy). Receiving this award was truly a privilege. Thank you for selecting me among other very deserving candidates. Also thank you for this awesome event. It was defiantly deserving of the award for best event.
And of course my speech wouldn’t be complete without a shout out to The Fantastic Fanpop Four. They are the kindest and most accessible founders of any internet networking site. They let us see that they are real people just like us. It is amazing how they take time to talk to us, comment on our content, and give us props. I don’t know where they find the time, but I am certainly happy that they have made it a priority to be an active part of this amazing community.
Dictionary.com defines a Humanitarian as a person who has concern for “helping to improve the welfare and happiness of people.” I am honored that I have been granted the title Humanitarian. I have tried to embody these qualities and I intend to strive even harder to fulfill this title within the next year.
In conclusion I would like to quote Pam Beesly from The Office, “Finally, I wanna thank God, because God gave me this Fanpoppy. And I feel God on Fanpop tonight.”
