I LOVE The Host! In fact I just reread it making it two times that I've read the whole book. (Not to mention all the times I've looked up my favorite parts and read them again! lol)
There are many parts that I like but one of my absolute favorites is when Ian over hears that Wanda is leaving (when actually she's choosing to die). I love that he freaks out, hitting and kicking to get her away lol. (If he was that pissed of when he thought she was choosing to leave imagine how much worse it would be if he knew she was actually choosing death!)
When he falls into her lap and cries. . . *gasp* I almost die every time! His love for her is so strong that you just can't help but feel for him. How he moans her name and begs her to stay, promising to never say he loves her again if she doesn't like it, as long as she will just stay.
The way he loves HER, not the body, and thinks that she is beautiful and amazing. *sigh*.
I wonder how Ian must have felt when he woke and saw that Wanderer was gone. And even more so his reaction to see Melanie, knowing that Wanda was no longer there.

The scene of Wanda kissing Ian and almost immediately making out with Jared was intense and I liked it. I mean I didn’t like the part when Ian starts kissing Wanda and she didn’t feel that overwhelm and he had to go find Jared. But at the same time I liked it. People must think that that was Wanda’s fault for not responding but it wasn’t. It was Melanie who didn’t responded because the only one that could bring her back was Jared.
When Jared kissed Wanda you could see the great love that Mel and Jared had for each other. Jared knew that Mel was there. He was determinate to find her, no matter what. He loved her and he was kissing her not Wanda. Wanda got carried away but not because she loved Jared more than Ian but because of the strong memories that Melanie had given her so long ago.
The love that Ian had for Wanda went beyond jealousy and hate. He knew what had to be done and he did it. He also knew that he didn’t love the body, but the soul inside it, Wanderer.

I got bigger and bigger every week. Suddenly I found myself at my 22th week with a small stomach.
Then came that fateful day.
I was asleep in Brandt's arms. He had me close, holding me from my shoulders. I felt something come out like pee and I shot up. Pain wretched through my body and I knew what was happening.
The baby was coming out.
I screamed, knowing that I wasnt due for another five weeks. I screamed louder and louder at the pain. Brandt was gone, going to get Doc. Wanda and Sunny were soon at my side, rubbing my back and rubbing my stomach.
Doc was suddenly there, along with most of the people in the caves. Tears rolled down my pale face and my hair became damp from my sweat. It was pushing out and we didnt have enough time to make it to a healer. Jeb shooed everyone away that didnt need to be there. Soon only Jeb, Doc, Brandt, Wanda and Sunny were around me. Wanda and Sunny hushed my screams but it didnt work. The pain was to intense to give up the screaming. I screamed louder and it soon turned into no more than a cry.
