Scar is very popular because he killed his own brother, which shocked people, he belongs to the most popular film ever, he's sarcastic and funny and sexy besides being a villain, he wanted to be king and many people understand his sadness for being behind his brother's shadow and he has got one of the most amazing Disney villain songs ever: "Be Prepared".

The depths that aren't Disney type:

MURDERING - not just killing but planning on it so it's a murder - his own brother AND his nephew. And that murder moment is shown extremely close up, literally, as is the how much Scar enjoyed the moment.

I believe Scar planned out absolutely everything. From the way Simba would start believeing it was his little roar echoing that caused the stampede (Scar literally tells Simba to practice his "little roar"), to how Mufasa would do anything to save his son and to try and save himself to be there for the boy afterwards, to how Simba would see everything excpet Scar's part in the matters.

Then; he throws the whole blame on his nephew, who was only a very young child and Scar does this without any hesitation or regrets and at the worst possible moment; when the child's crying in the arms of his dead father.

And as if this wasn't enough, Scar intents the child to die an ugly death by a small pack of hyenas tearing him apart; he means the child to die like that, with genuine belief that he had caused his daddy's death.

Years later when it turned out Simba in fact is alive and tried to take his place as the rightful king and obviously tried leaving the tragedy behind, Scar still tries to tear the wounds open and manipulate Simba's mind and emotions, knowing there is no way Simba could've got over it entirely. However this time his intentions are not to simply make Simba blame himself again but have the lionesses including Simbva's mother and lover - to blame him too. To have him confess in front of his loved ones, to a lie that hurts him enough anyway. (Sarabi: "It isn't true. Tell me it isn't true!" Simba: "It's true." I just love that moment; his motheer actually thought it might be true that Simba caused his father's death in any way that should matter!)

Then Scar corners Simba with tha pack of hyenas, talking to him as if he was still a child but with menace in his tone and in the end driving Simba to almost fall into his death. "Oh, Simba... You're in trouble again. But this time daddy isn't here to save you. And now, they all - heard - WHY!"

Then he just calmly tries to recall where has he seen the situation before as if he didn't remember while Simba's desperately trying to stay alive. But I think this is Scar's most powerful villain moment, when he does exactly the same he did with Mufasa all those years ago, and crouches to whispers into SImba's ear "And here's my little secret: I killed Mufasa." and of course had planned to throw Simba off the cliff just like he did to Mufasa.

That would come around to how he had intended teh child SImba to die an ugly death believing to be guilty of his father's death only this time Simba would die knowing the whole truth and how he had suffered for years, but being innocent.

I have no idea, because I never liked him.

Because The Lion King is one of Disney's best and most popular movies, very simple xD :D

To me, Scar was always interesting because he didn't get what he wanted because he was scarier or stronger then the other characters, or because he had any magic that put him ahead. He was a knew type of villian; he was smart and cunning and sneaky and got what he wanted by manipulating others, instead of just taking it away by force. It was interesting to see a "good guy" (Mufsa) being stronger then the bad guy (Scar), but still being beaten by him.

scar is not only my favourite villan, but my favourite disney character of all time. I find his evilness and determination villanous, yet inside you see a much more charasmatic lion, as he is sarcastic and sly, and a very good liar. most would think of him as a coward, as when put up to a battle he runs away. Yet at the end, when Simba is more vunerable, he puts up a fierce fight and almost defeats him. Also, i find him sexy. XD

i liked him because his hair is black, not like lions we know, and also his skin color is darker than other lions, and also he is the only one who killed a brother than the other villains, and he is also very cool, especially his eyes, i really very like his eyes

Because he was the only lion in the movie with orange fur,a black mane and a scar over his left eye.Also for killing Mufasa.

I think Taka a.k.a Scar is the perfect disney villain because he has the motive(His father Ahadi treated him really badly because he was the younger son therefore could not become king) so he had to kill Mufasa. He also can be so decieving. I know some people say that there are plenty of decieving vilains in disney movies but no body can actually pull off the famous line "All the more reason for me to be protective. An elephant graveyard is no place for a young prince... Oops! Oh dear I've said too much!"
