“What are you going to L.A. for Marissa?” Anna asked suspiciously
“Um, shopping.” Marissa lied
“So you’re taking two cars?” Seth asked
“No...in fact, if you would be so kind as to drive my car home?” Marissa asked
“Sure...I guess.” Seth said as he ran a hand through his hair.
“Oh really, so you’re not going to visit a certain someone.” Anna persisted
“Uh..no. What are you talking about? I don’t even know anybody who’s in L.A.-
Marissa stopped in mid-sentence as it dawned on her that Hailey was in L.A.
Seth grabbed Anna by the arm with an excused
“C’ mon Anna I’m starved.” as he dragged her away.

“We’re not really going to L.A. are we?” Marissa asked as the two of them got into Alex’s jeep.
“No...unless you want to, but I just thought you could use some time away from all this drama.” Alex grinned.
“Thanks.”
“Nothing to it.”

Marissa left a couple of singles for the waitress at the diner as they exited.
“I guess I better get you home.” Alex said as they entered Orange County.
“No, I’ve got a better idea.” Marissa smiled

“Am I bleeding?” Marissa asked as she stood in front of the mirror in her room.
“Turn around, let me see.” Alex said as she walked closer to Marissa and peeled off the covering.
“Oh no, you’re not. That is so hot...have a look for yourself.” Alex said as she stared at Marissa’s tattoo.
“Nice tat Marissa.” Caitlin commented
“Caitlin?” Marissa said as she turned around.
“Mom is going to kill you.” Caitlin warned
“Yea, I know...but she doesn’t have to find out.” Marissa said with a sly grin
“My lips are sealed.” Caitlin smiled

Marissa and Alex reached Alex’s apartment just as it turned 3:00. Alex walked over to the fridge and took out two beers. The girls sat down on the couch and Marissa turned on the T.V.
Twisting off the cap, Alex handed Marissa a beer. There was a clinking of glass as Marissa said ‘cheers’ and took a swig.
