Events you'd like to see

Me, I'd like to see some real long-distance swimming events. Sure, they've got the 1500m freestyle. But that's not really an endurance competition the way that a 15K freestyle race would be. That's considerably less distance than a marathon, after all, and there are people all over the world who swim much further distances. I think long-distance swimming really needs to be represented in the Olympics.

if you've been hunting medals for the past week, you'd probably agree that www.medalmania.com should be an official event in 2012. how many have you found?

Long distance swimming is an olympic sport, at least the ten kilometers is. Maarten van der Weijden, a Dutch guy :), won it in Bejing.
