There are pretenders among us. Geniuses with the ability to be become anyone they want to be. In 1963,[...] the Centre isolated a young pretender named Jarod [...] one day, their pretender ran away...
I'm just curious as to why this AMAZING show caught other peoples attention?! Was it you heart, your mind, did you enjoy the chase?! Did you see a love story?! A family story?!
What was it about Jarod and company that got you hooked?!
Okay well I reckon' I'll be the first person to respond, it was Jarod all along that got me hooked...
When you see the first episode your heart breaks for this sweet, nice adorable guy that was taken from his family, then you see what a GREAT guy he is and you just want him to find his family...but along the way you want him to get closer to Sydney, to tell him he loves him, that he was a father to him, and you want Sydney to say all those things back to Jarod, that he loves him, and he was like the son Sydney never had (or never knew he had rather...)
Of course the other characters caught my heart as well, Miss Parker being the other one I LOVED to death, you felt sorry for her as well, she was raised in almost the same environment as Jarod, her circumstances weren't as bad but to say she had an easy life would be a lie...
And then personally for me I became a Jarod/Miss Parker shipper, I thought they were in this really weird way that didn't make sense at all meant to be together...I still do!!!!
Oh and Broots, he was like freaking awesome...I loved him and his daughter, they had some cute storylines throughout the show, and Broots just entertained me as well...
YUCK to Mr. Raines though that guy freaked me out sooooo sooooo soooo soooo much throughout the show...YUCK!!!!
For now I'm done, PLEASE tell me what you think!!!!
I didn't see First episode, I saw it later than rest of serial. I loved Jarod, especially the idea of ma, who is discovering new word . . . I hoped he'll find his parents, he'll make M.Parker better. . .
I loved also all the characters, except Mr. Lyle, but thez all was awesome!!!!
I loved all the show, Jarod's escapes, searching for new secrets and so on. It became my most favourite serial.
When I saw it first time, I wanted to know what will happen. When I saw it at the second time, I was sad, I almost cried, because it ended!
I didn't see the pilot episode first either. When i first saw The Pretender i was automatically pulled in. I loved the devious ways of all the characters and how Miss Parker would do anything to succeed. I can still remember the first episode i ever saw and it makes me happy when i see a picture from an episode and i can remember which one it is and what happened. I may be a little too obsessed according to my mom, but being this into The Pretender keeps me smiling so...
I'm all for the Centre, don't get me wrong i love Jarod and want him to find his family and all, but i don't know...whenever The Centre scenes came on i enjoyed the episode even more. Miss Parker being my favorite character, might have influenced that though. I want MP to be happy even though deep down everyone knows that if she is happy it sort of ruins part of the show because she is suppose to be tough and mean and be able to hold her own. Even though i'm a Miss Parker/Jarod shipper i am glad that Thomas came around to give her a little glimpse of happiness, but he had to 'go away' because he almost got her to leave The Centre and that would be too much of a twist, i think. Sorry if you wanted her to leave but really? Can you imagine The Pretender with Miss Parker not on Jarod's tail? With Miss Parker barely in the story lines anymore because she had to go be happy?
I like her in The Centre, with Sydney looking out for her and Jarod sending her little clues about where he is...and of course, her scaring the crap out of poor little Broots.
There was some talk of a third movie and i hope it actually happens because i think they owe it to the fans to find out. (Does that make sense?) (Oh well) :l
I had the hots for Andrea Parker! Besides being beautiful she is an excellent actress, she set the perfect Avengers style sarcastic tone, and visual style which won the heart of an older viewer like myself. Also I enjoyed the humor which was skillfully put into the script. I was also won over by the lovable tech nerd with the ridiculous name of Broots (is that right?) Forget the Pretender, I want to see him and Miss Parker together, and I'm sure he does too. Pretender is definitely a mark above usual tv fare!
