CAN'T LOAD THE GOTH HOUSEHOLD!

Why is it that when I try and play with the Goth family (Mortimer, Alex and a new wife, the blond one whose name I can't remember) it just doesn't work? I used to play on it all the time, and I moved Cassandra out and then moved her and Don in, then I added Dina and Nina and their kids, and did loads of arranging, with no problem. It's only started to muck up now... it loads fully, then when the sandtimer should turn into an arrow it just stays as a sandtimer, emptying out and then filling up, over and over. I watched it once for an hour and a half and eventually it just froze. Help and tips people? Is there anything I can do or shall I accept that Morty and his much too young wife are stuck?
