um...thats a duh. Baroness was a stupid blond( not 2 get into stereotypes), she didn't play with the children and was secreatley mean and snooty 2 maria. LUV MARIA AND CAPTIN VON TRAPP!!!:-)
No contest. The Captain's relationship with the Baroness seemed to be more about money and social status, whereas his relationship with Maria was based on love and trust.
No, Chris Plummer doesn't dislike Julie Andrews in real life. As far as I know, they even became good friends because of The Sound of Music filming. It was playing the part of Capt. von Trapp that Chris disliked so much, but eventually learned to like because of Julie..
Anyway, I would pick Captain and Maria. No question about that, they had much more chemistry.. and it's obvious that his feelings for Maria were intense and so sincere.. Awwww. :))
As for the Baroness, I think she doesn't dislike the von Trapp children at all; in fact, she was even delighted and charmed by them (as seen in the end of the children's reprise of The Sound of Music", when Gretl gave her a cluster of edelweiss.. Elsa even comented on "how enchanting [Georg's] dhildren were). SHe just don't have any idea how to deal with the kids, especially, as her children, she seems she hasn't got any experience in motherhood. She really led a defferent lifestyle in Vienna, and bringing up children doesn't seem to belong in her way of living there. That's it. :)
