The Veronicas

Date of birth: 25/12/1985
Place of birth: Brisbane, Australia
Star sign: Sagittarius

One minute you're finishing high school in Brisbane, Australia, and the next you're given a record contract and touring the globe performing your music. Check out the rest of Jess and Lisa Origliasso's story.

Jess and Lisa Origliasso are identical twins who appeared out of nowhere late 2005. They landed on the world stage, making their mark with their first single and album globally. While bands usually start out locally, gradually building up their rep, these ladies went straight to the top with their first single 4Ever and are just as popular worldwide as they are on their home turf of Australia. Now they have their own albums The Secret Life of The Veronicas and Hook Me Up, live it up in LA and are embarking on their first headline tour through Australia. Talk about one way ticket to successville.

Okay, so I live in the UK and my friend and I have been huge fans of The Veronicas for over a year. The deal is, The Veronicas were basically unheard of in this country, I didn't know a single person apart from my friend who had heard any of their music.

Now, I honestly don't know whether to be pleased or VERY annoyed at the fact that The Veronicas are huge here. Their single Untouched is now in the top 40, I'm assuming it will be in the top 10 if not number 1 at the popularity of it.

The problem is, that now EVERYBODY listens to them. Seriously, in my business class all the chavs[seebelowplz] practically rape the song, it gets abused and listened to constantly. While this may sound like a good thing, the general music chavs listen to tend to be heavily edited, one hit wonders and often just not good songs.

On a good note though, if The Veronicas get more popular it's likely they'll go on tour here, where they haven't been before, so I'm IMMENSELY pleased at that.
