ABC has just announced that The View will be broadcasting from Las Vegas June 23-27. Here is the full press release, which includes information about a contest where you can win a trip to Las Vegas to see a taping.
ABC Daytime’s “The View” returns to Las Vegas, Nev. to broadcast from the legendary casino resort, Caesars Palace, JUNE 23-27. The broadcast, sponsored by Walgreens, was announced today by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group. This is the first time “The View” will broadcast in HDTV while on location. “The View” had previously broadcast from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February 2006 and February 2004.
“I’m thrilled that the Walgreens sponsorship enables us to take ‘The View’ back to Las Vegas and Caesars Palace,” said Mr. Frons. “What happens in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas once the ladies of ‘The View’ start talking about it.”

Hosted by Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd, “The View” features a dynamic team of women who share their daily, no-holds-barred opinions and lively, colorful conversations. Their unmatched chemistry is the original forum where real women discuss relevant, everyday issues.
“What can I say, we like to lose money and sleep in Las Vegas every year or two. For the first time we will have Whoopi and Sherri with us. One will be gambling, the other will be praying. I’ll let you figure out who’s who,” said executive producer Bill Geddie.
As the exclusive sponsor bringing “The View” to Las Vegas, Walgreens will receive extensive exposure through its association with “The View” and throughout ABC Daytime. Walgreens will benefit from a one-month pre-event promotional campaign of unprecedented national exposure, kicking off today with a two-week on-air sweepstakes that awards two lucky winners a trip for two to be part of the Las Vegas studio audience. “We are excited to partner with ABC to generate excitement around the show’s Las Vegas road trip. “I like to play blackjack and craps. It’s in my genes to gamble. My father had a beach chair in front of the OTB parlor. I said to him one day, “Daddy, OTB does not mean ‘On the Beach,’” joked Joy Behar, co-host of “The View.”
“I don’t gamble. I don’t drink. I’m celibate. Wow, I’m the person Las Vegas doesn’t want — and there is only five days for Vegas to work its mojo,” laughed co-host Sherri Shepherd.
