Jack might not have even been the love of her life. They knew each other for less than a week. Who knows, 6 months or a year down the line, they might have started fighting or gotten bored with each other.
I used to hate the fact that Rose got married after Jack, too - he was obviously a big part of her life, true. But, eventually, she had to let go of the depressing memories and enjoy her life in the moment (wow, I just sounded like Oprah). |

I don't think it's messed up, at least not very much. I mean Jack, the love of her life did die, but she made him a promise. "You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise." Basically she promised him to survive and move on with her life. Jack told her to; You're gonna get out of here, you're gonna go on and make lots of babies, and you're gonna watch them grow. You're gonna die an old... an old lady warm in her bed, but not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?" It wouldn't be fair, or what should I say, for Rose to never be with another man the rest of her life because of Jack, and Jack wouldn't want her to be alone either I think.

It is and it's not messed up, at the same time. Yes, she did promise to Jack that she would die old and that she would move on, I understand that, but still. It's not so much of the fact that she got married, to me, it's the fact that she had kids, and grandkids. And that she never told anyone about Jack, and that even if she later used his last name as her own, she did got married, and lost his name. It's like Jack never existed in her life and she only remembered him so many years later.
I would rather that he would have some influence on her life after his death, but he didn't. |

Yeah I know what ya mean. Jack dies in the end and we see Rose as an old woman and she goes to sleep and we see her as a young version again this time with Jack and she married him and they kissed and that was it. Yeah I always wondered did she marry him before he got frozen to death

Honestly, anyone would have done the same thing. She was very young back then, it's natural that she moved on with her life. I wouldn't expect her to not get married and have children, because these are very important things in a woman's life. She found someone new who she loved and continued to live her life. It would have been absurd to mourn forever.

I think she just wanted to move on. I mean, after Jack's death, she can't have babies with him, obviously. I think she used her husband (whomever it may be) and maybe TRIED getting over Jack, but as seen in older Rose, never really did. I think she tried not to think about the iceberg incident and more importantly, Jack, but everything came back to her that day when she was shown the camera-view of the Titanic decades later. It's obvious she still loves him, but she can only say she loved him. She can't do anything with him to show it.
