The Caves (Full article)

(This is a true story. This happened to me years ago, when I was 11. So my fanfiction character's surroundings will be different, as to the Elementary school that they will be at for the first bit of the article :)
Everyone hurried into the Gym of Butler Elementary school, today was the end of the year field trip, to St. Louis. Everyone was excited to be going so far from the school. JG, Blake, Seiamica, Bibi Bri and Shawni were behind the stage. The stage was in the gym, and when the curtins were closed, It made a fully closed off room, it had tables, chairs, computer desks, not to mention all of the play props and the stuff for P.E. It was basicly a huge storage place, and the possy liked it. Mean while, in the Gym, Brooklynn was surrounded by people, asking her this and that about how she got her crutches. Finnaly Brooklynn had had enough and her and Stevin climbed the stairs to the backstage room. "Hi Brooky" said Seiamica. "Hi cici, you guys mind if I stay back here with you until we leave for the busses? Everyone won't stop asking me about the crutches". "Not at all" said Shawni. Good morning Butler students, I'm glad you could all make it, what with having to come here at 7:30 and all. Please make sure you get all of your things before getting on the busses. One hour later, still on the bus Alexas was sitting in her seat, staring out the windows, she would tell everyone when a semi truck would go pass, so they would make the dign and the driver would honk. Most people were sitting with another person, but not JG, or Alexas. JG was layed back on her seat, she used her book bag as a pillow, and drank some tea from a water bottle, and she played a spyro game on her friend Donnashia's game boy advanced. Blake sat inbetween Mick and Seiamica, who would fight and fight, being inbetween them, is like a nightmare. One hour and 30 minutes later Everyone was walking into the museum. As soon as they walked in, they all gasped in amazement. It didn't even look like a museum! mIt was better than that! Their was this furry confetti stuff hanging off of the ceiling, and under it, they could see tubes with people crawling through them. They could see a giant whale, that you could walk through, but what really got people exsited, was the caves. "These are the city museum caves, you can go through them. The museum wanted them to be as real as...well a real cave! They don't have light, unless it's coming from the cave crystals. Make sure you watch your step, and there is more than one way out, but you must find your own way out. If you get lost, they won't come to find you!" said Blake. "You've been here before?" said Seiamica. "yep" said Blake. Brooklynn gave her crutches to the supervisor, she knew that she would get along alot better without them in the twisted caves. "Let's go!" yelled Seiamica. Deep within the caves, there came a very thin part. Where the cave floor was very close to the ceiling. Seiamica looked at it, but she knew that she had to crawl through. Everyone crawled, it was really hard, there was probably about a foot inbetween the ceiling and the floor. Everyone was a little ticked when they saw that after that, they would have to jump from a ledge to a cave floor tht went deeper into the cave. Surprisingly, even Brooklynn jumped without hurting her legs. But when it came time for Seiamica to jump, she jumped....and she didn't land on her feet. She landed on her foot, actually twisting her ankel. She let out a yell loud enough to cause a cave-in. Lucky for them that it wasn't a real cave. "yeeow!" she cryed. "Oh god! It hurts! I can't go through the caves like this!". "Ok, Seiamica, your gonna need to go back the way we came, if you try to get out the actual exit, it take you about 4 hours. going back the other way will take you 1 hour" said Blake. "f,fine" said Seiamica. She found a tunel that looked like it twisted back up to the tight place. She climbed up the tunel, and the others started to walk through the caves once more. Then they came to a space, so dark, so big, that no one could see their hand in front of their face. There looked as if there were two tunnels ahead, One was on the side, one was to the front of them. "We need to go to the one on our side to get out" said Blake. "I wanna go that way!" said Brooklynn, pointing to a tunnel that hadn't been visable to the others when they had first walked in. "No" said Stevin, "we're going to the one that's straight ahead, if we get lost, we'll be able to find our way out quicker is we just keep going straight". The other's agreed, all but Blake. "I'm positive that we should go that way!" said blake pointing once again to the tunnel on the side of them. "Fine! you go your way, we agree on that tunnel" said stevin. So Stevin, JG, Shawni, Bibi Bri, and Brooklynn headed for the tunnel ahead of them. Brooklynn could see that Stevin was ahead of the group, not trying to help her. She treated this as an oppertunity to do something of her own free will for once today. When the others were winding up a ramp-like almost stair case like twisted tunnel, Brooklynn went back down it, and back to the Tunnel that she'd wanted to go through. The others reached the top of the ramp tunnel, they came to a very small room, it seemed to be above ground level. Shawni and the others liked it, there was a very small hole where sme rockes seemed to not fit together. There was light! "I'm sooooo thirsty!" said Bibi. She stared at some water, pouring out of a hole. "It seems clear... In fatc, why wouldn't it be, this is a museum after all" said Stevin. Bibi started licking at the water like she was a dog. "How about you Brooklynn, do you want any?". Stevin waited, but there was no answer. "Brooky?" said Bibi. Blake looked around. "I know this is the way out, I'm confident that this is the way out' said Blake. "wow, those Crystals are beautiful" he said, inspecting some glowing crystals. "Oh, thank god! I'm in the shoe shafts!" he said. The shoe shafts were where there were very detaied animals carved out of stone in the cave walls, Blake knew that he could use these to remember if he'd been some where before. "Blake rembered seeing a frog next to a dino earlier. He looked up at the walls. "Ok, let's see! a....dino...and a frog.." Blake looked at the wall wide-eyed. "oh no".... "BROOKLYNN!" yelled Stevin. "oh no! Oh god! If her mom finds out I lost her i-". "I know! ya won't get paid!" "NO! she says that she'll sue me! in plus, Brooklynn is one of my best friends!" "Ok, no matter how much you guys like this place, we can't stay here! we have to go look for Brooklynn!" said Stevin. "Ok" said Everyone. Bibi Bri and Shawni took one last drink of water. "Ok, All of you, crawl through this hole" said Stevin, who was looking into a rather small hole in the rock. It was pitch black, and Shawni looked at it with fear. "I'm, I, I'm afraid of the dark" she said. "We have to!" yelled Stevin. "It is pretty small" said Bibi, staring into the hole. JG got on her knees and crawled through the hole. She looked around to see, crystals, glowing crystals, and water flowing in a small two inch river across the side. "Thsi place is beautiful!" she said. Bibi hopped down and through the hole. Her eyes widened as she looked around, amazed. Stevin crawled through next, then looked back to see Shawni still sitting there. "I know your afraid of the dark, but you have to get through here to get out!" he said. Shawni put her hand in her pocket and pulled out her ipod. She turned it on and it shined bright. "I can go now!" she said. The four continued to climb through, Stevin in front. Stevin seemed to be the most worried about Brooklynn, being the one that was suposed to look after her. Brooklynn was the oldest, she was friends with Stevin, and Seiamica, but didn't like the ideal of a 14 year-old being in charge of her. Seaimica walked through the caves, alone. She was having trouble. She wasn't sure if she had gotten closer to the exits, to the tree top fortresses, or deeper into the caves. That was when, she fell, and slid down a rocky hill. Seiamica found herself in a fog-filled, crystal-lit, amazing cavern. "It's hard to beleive this isn't a real cave" Seiamica said to herself. Blake ran through the caves, looking around franticly. "I shouldn't have even left the group, I'm lost! I can't do this!" He yelled. The four came to a hole in the stone wall, it was definitely too small. "We need some one small enough to fit through this hole, then they can find a way to get the rest of us through another way" said Stevin. Everyone looked at JG, who backed away shaking her head. "Your the only one whos small enough!" said Shawni. "ugh" said JG, who started to crawl through the hole. Shawni sat down on a rock. "I can't stay here, I can't stay here! It's dark!" she said. "Use your ipod!" said Stevin. "IT'S OUTTA JUICE!" yelled Shawni. The 3 sat down, until they heard JG calling them. "I found a way for you ta get out!" she yelled. "Where?" said Stevin. "Look up" said JG. The 3 looked up to see that there was hole right above them, all they needed to do was climb up. Stevin climbed up first, Then Bibi. Shawni looked up. "I can't climb that!" she said. "Get a lift from that rock" said Bibi. Shawni struggled to climb up, but after 10 minutes, she reached the top. That was when everyone heard Brooklynn calling. "Brooklynn?" said Stevin. "Help! Help! I-" said Brooklynn from a faraway distance. The Four ran down a surprisingly smoothe and edged tunnle, It seemed they wouldn't have to do anymore climbing,or crawling. That was until they came to a room that seemed to have a dead-end. Wait a minute! Blake's mom said that these caves eventually lead to tree top fortresses! She said that no matter what, no matter how confusing, there would always be a way out!" said JG. "O....M....F*cking...G". Everyone looked at Bibi who had been on her knees looking at a wall. "What??? That's a srone wall!" said Stevin. "No! Put your head on the wall, then turn it to the right. Shawni did what Bibi said, and sure enough, Shawni noticed what Bibi had and the others hadn't. "holey bonkers!" yelled Shawni. In the stone was a hidden door. It was an optical illusion. there was a wall, behind a wall that had a passage way. From looking at the wall from the middle of the room, the two walls would look like they were one wall. "We are So lucky to have an explorer in this group! said Stevin jumping up and down. "let's go!" yelled JG, crawling through the hole. Everyone else crawled through the hole. Seiamica looked around. oh no, scary animals, carved on the wall, NO Seiamica, keep it together, gotta get outta this cave, gotta get outta this cave. Seiamica had found herself deep in the shoe shafts. "who am I kidding! I gotta get outta here!" yelled Seiamica as she started running. She ran and ran until she bumped right into Blake. "Seiamica?" said Blake. "I thought you were suposed to be out of here by now!". "Well, YOU pointed out the WRONG way to me" said Seiamica. "I can't find my way out!" "Neither can I!" "Where's the rest of the group?" "I left them" "Blake, why the h*ll!?!" "I thought that they weren't going the right way" "Well, this certantly isn't the right way!" "I thought it was!" "So you have no clue where the others are?" "Nope" "ugh!" "Brooklynn!?" yelled Bibi. "Wait, I hear, rustling, we're near....trees" she said. "The tree top fortresses!" said JG. "You mean that Brooklynn could be in the trees?!" said Stevin. "We're really close!" said Bibi. "Oh my god!" said Shawni. "what?" everyone said. Shawni opened up a wooden door that brought in light, and noise. "we're outta the caves!" she said. " see the trees, I see the people below! God, this is the best!" It opened up to a wooden foor, with a net to climb down to tree houses! "You guys!" a voice yelled. They looked up to see Brooklynn. "Help, I, I'm stuck!" Brooklynn was caught between to boards, she has apearently been trying to climb through them. She was breathing heavy. "Her asma!" yelled Stevin. "Some one go down through the trees to get her inhaler!". "I'll go!" said Shawni. And she disapeared through the net. 20 minutes later she came back and Gave Brooklynn her inhaler, now all they needed was to get her un-stuck. The others tried, while Shawni showed JG how to get to the first floor from the trees. Seiamica and Blake crawled through the caves, until they saw a small tunnel, with light at the end. They ran though, and they popped their heads up.....in the middle of a first floor bench! "we're out!" they yelled. They loked around until they saw JG and Shawni over by a first floor tree house. "We found our way out!" thye yelled, running up to JG and Shawni. The others came climbing down some tree branches behind them. "we're out too!" they yelled. Mrs. Robberts (blakes mom) wanted a picture of them i front of the trees, to mark where they got out. After that, they had no time left, and they piled up in the bus, and went home!
