Lindsay walked in as I hung up the phone. I clutched the paper with his address on his and felt tears in my eyes. "What's wrong Sarah?" She asked me. I smiled at her lack of knowledge. "Nothing, Lindsay. Do you know if Leshawna or Izzy have a car?" I said. "No, but I do!" She answered holding up the keys to a pink car that looked as if it came out of a Barbie magazine. "Thanks Linds!" I shouted and hugged her. I grabbed her hand and we raced down the stairs. "Where are we going?!" Lindsay asked between each step. "A place!" "I love places!"
We stepped out the door and I jumped into her ruby colored car. "You have your learners permit right?" I asked. "Um, I have a car!" "I can see that Lindsay," I said taking the keys from her.
After a long drive of Lindsay pointing out everything she saw on the way, we arrived to a medium sized faded green house. I looked up at it and stepped out of the car. Checking the address again, to make sure I was at the right location. "This is it..." I whispered to myself. Lindsay gasped and jumped out of the car. "Ooooh! Cute house!" She squealed. I smiled and carefully walked up the steps. I was a little worried about all of this. My parents think I'm at an arts and writing college!... But really I'm coming to live with my punk rocker ex-boyfriend. I gently knocked on the door. The was no answer. "Hello...?" I squeaked. "Sofie?" I heard a person's voice from the inside. I heard the door click open from the inside and Duncan stood in the door way. Me and Lindsay gasped and stepped back when we saw a cigarette in his hand. "D-Duncan, what are you dong?" I asked. "Standing here." He answered. Lindsay said; "Your smoking Doug!" I frowned and grabbed the cigarette. "Why, WHEN!?" I screamed. He sighed; "Since we broke up 5 years ago." I felt more tears in my eyes. That was so sweet, and so sad at the same time. "Well, don't do it anymore! Cause we're back together now, right?" He nodded weakly. "We are, right?" I repeated. "Well, I didn't break up with Courtney yet." Duncan admitted. More silence. "But...." I said. "...I thought you loved me..." "Sofie, I do! I love you with all my heart!" He screamed hugging me. "But, Courtney will rip me apart if I tell her! I need someone else to do it for me!" He said. "I can!" Lindsay said. I wiped a tear away from my eye. "No, she'll hurt you even more. You're to soft, Lindsay." I said squeezing air like dough. "Like marshmallow." "Well, who?" Duncan asked taking my hand and escorting me and Lindsay inside the green house.
