I could not gather courage,
To tell thee then for certain,
That your eyes glossed divine beauty—
In a most unmoving way!
It’s a salient day, with sun,
Not to mention, children’s play;
I would remain for you a lifetime,
I would listen to your words—
And you’re breathing whilst you’re dormant:
In the dark,
Your empty body rises,
By the moon-wave by the shore,
There was a tree with empty twigs,
Yet rich and plentiful it wore,
The pelt of stars above it;
The water shore,
Had a soothing tinkle
You listened;
None aside from you had listened,
In my midst dream and vagrant,
The nightingale’s chants resound.
Me –
I were there I were a shadow,
I know not how to explain—
I saw you then and yet... before.
I could not gather courage,
To tell thee then for certain,
That your eyes glossed divine beauty—
In a most unmoving way!
It’s a salient day, with sun,
Not to mention, children’s play;
I would remain for you a lifetime,
I would listen to your words—
And you’re breathing whilst you’re dormant:
