Ok, maybe Bono, but I personally believe that this is EXACTLY WHERE rests its ultimate greatness: it's a challenging album. I don't mean to say that Bono takes his fans for fools, but yes indeed many of them might have wondered at some of its lyrics.
But seriously, I know it's cliché but U2 ELEVATES my soul, as a fan & a person, they make me THINK for God's sake!! And we all know how mindless pop songs have become in recent history...songs about milkshakes & what have you!!
So Bono, I'd be PROUD if I were you for having, once gain, created such a masterpiece of both music & lyrics...
I ultimately say it's better to overthink than not to think enough!
