Used to like him at the first episode. Not because of what he represented (yet ANOTHER love interest... the 5th one...) but because I saw potential in Daniel Eric Gold. He could be a mild temporary substitute of Henry and Gio with a slight very slight mix of both.
But he let me down greatly. Not only he's flat, uninteresting -a hateful rich brat- and quite bland... but there isn'tone single powerful scene I can remember of him on screen. He doesn't light spice and fireworks like Gio or create sweet lovely moments like Henry. He's just THERE. In the finale he did show some little emotion but it was repetitive. The same sad eyes in three different scenes... boring!
I want my Gio back.

I liked the fact he was like Daniel they writers kind of giving a hint that Betty would actually Date someone like him but after the season finale he was really mean to Betty Yes she kissed Henry but Matt did not have to take that Job at MODE he obviously did it to spite Betty because he said he was not even interested in Publishing anymore! I don't really know atm but i have a feeling i will go back to hating him like i did when he first came in the show.

I still like him!!! I have a feeling that right now he got his heart broken and took the job because of it.... I don't think he can be so hurtful towards Betty.... I feel what Slivio said is going to happen that this is only going to bring Betty and Matt closer.... Matt going to try to make Betty's life miserable but he will probably fail at it.... He'll realize no matter how hurt he is he still loves her.....
I still can't believe he took the job it was kind've of mean and spiteful but I really felt it was done out of hurt and angier....

Strangely enough, I still like Matt even though he got his heart broken & took the job to get back at her...more so after when Matt asked Betty if she still "loved" Henry & Betty told him that she would always have some feelings for Henry because he was her "first love." I wondered if even if Betty gave a different response Matt would still have took the job. Matt's going to make Betty's life at Mode miserable for a while (& may fail) and no matter how heart-broken he was I think in his heart he still loves Betty & they will try again. I too can't believe he took the job at Mode (I KNOW HE CAN BECAUSE OF HIS CONNECTIONS)more so the fact that he knew being an editor was one of Betty's goals/dreams & to make it worse...being her new boss. I believe Matt did it out of anger & spite, but I don't believe he really hates Betty & I think this is one of the hurdles that may bring their relationship closer & is going down the lines of what Horts was hinting at about their relationship changing & growing.

I think hes a bit of a whimp lol

Yes, I like him. I'm happy that Betty and Matt are together.

I still can't get a straight answer why people actually like the character Matt. Besides the fact that he is the only current love interest available for Betty right now.

It makes me wonder if people are starting to like him for no apparent reason... just because they do.

It's the first time that happens.

Except for the words "cute" and "sweet" and "he loves her".
Because those are words that are also used to describe Daniel, Henry and Gio.

We don't need Betty to be in a love triangle.She doesn't need to choose from 2 guys and make her life complicated.

Betty + Matt...now WHERE DOES DANIEL FIT IN THAT EQUATION???!!! He's much less of a jerk to her, as the 1st episode in season 4 has shown us!! OMG they're FRIENDS now!!!

And hopefully they will be something more than just friends! Daniel and Betty belong together!!
