Show Recap:
The first episode of season two was extremely touchy-feely, in my opinion. To begin with, Betty is running around like a chicken with her head cut off, trying to take care of Daniel and her job and denying that she is hurt over recent family events. Henry’s running off to Arizona with Charlie has also clearly affected her greatly.
Daniel and Alexis are in the hospital after their car crash. Daniel is in a wheelchair and feels guilty, thinking he caused the crash. Alexis is in a coma until Daniel goes in to talk to her.
Once she wakes up, Alexis can’t remember that she got the sex-change surgery… a classic case of amnesia. She can’t remember that she is no longer a male Alex.
Hilda spends several days holed up in her bedroom after Santos gets shot. For the first 50 minutes of the episode, we are fooled into thinking that he survived the shooting, because him and Hilda spend 24/7 in their bedroom, talking and reminiscing about what they almost lost.
But it becomes known at the end of the episode that Hilda had been imagining him all along… and he is truly dead, after all.
Meanwhile, Amanda tries to deal with the news that she is Fay Sommers’s daughter. She eats nonstop and gains a ton of weight.
Her and Marc try and figure out who her father is. It becomes quite clear that Bradford is her father…
Wilhelmina and Claire Meade (who has escaped prison and is staying in the Hamptons with her jailbird buddy) have another showdown.
Last but not least, Betty and Daniel hold a little “funeral” of sorts - they both lay their griefs to rest. Daniel vows to stop being addicted to meds. Betty vows to get over Henry…
…just in time for Henry to get off a bus, alone, in NYC.
