Favorite Scary Stories/Urban Legend writer for kids?

I loved Goosebumps when i was little.

I adore Alvin Schwartz. When I get his book back (Friday) I'm going to transcribe my favorite "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark"

these were intersting books

I still read Goosebumps even though I'm 14 now. They gave me the creeps and I still can't go into my cellar without holding something like a bat and torch.

I still want to read them and Im 18 years old

the tv series is why since i was 10 i've had an insane fear of wooden puppets, china dolls, anything trying to look like a person just freaks me out! My Granny gave me one when i was 14(china doll - god knows why!!) my mum put it under her bed but i literally couldn't sleep until it had been picked up with the trash!

i love Pike since i was a teenager, i read his books even till today, sometimes repeatedly, i'm 26.

his stories are interesting and his "the last vampire" caused a prolific turning point in my life.

only one i know. im scared of china dolls/ human dolls/ wooden puppets too..

i have only read schwartz and stine, and i must say these leave me a lot more freaked out...

I really liked R.L. Stine when I was a kid, but now looking back Schwartz's stuff tended to have a creepier appeal, the pictures were wicked.

I LOVE Goosebumps, but I also LOVE Schwartz's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark trilogy (with those wonderfully appalling illustrations from Stephen Gammell!!) Amazing.

I used to freak out every time I read one of those because I would always stay up to finish it... and then i would have to go to bed with my lamp on.
