YouTube sucks.

YouTube, a site in which became increasingly popular exponentially. A site both regarded and revered to be the best video hosting site of it's time.But until recently, Google has acquired YouTube for about $1.65 billion in an all stock transaction. Both companies have approved the deal, which should officially close in the fourth quarter. Since then, YouTube has become a barren wasteland filled and comprised of Rick Rolls, pointless Mac vs PC nonsense, and derogatory and moronic members of the site. Copyright Infringement and Spam: Let's be honest, the biggest reason why YouTube was such a ground-breaking success was due to having copyrighted videos. This is what attracted so much attention and popularity to YouTube in the first place. However, YouTube simply couldn't ignore all the lawsuits being made by companies who had their copywrighted videos uploaded onto it's site, and thus, we've seen a marked crackdown on copyrighted videos on their site ranging from quick removal of televised shows and movies, to short tv clips, trailers, and so forth. Google's overly avid attempt to make sure copyright infringement isn't an issue has progressively lessened the popularity of the site exceedingly. But this simply doesn't go in accordance with the videos alone. Rather, it also goes hand-in-hand with comments and posts. This is where spam comes in. For an example, as a long since member of the site, I've had situations where I sometimes post a comment which I wasn't satisfied with. I am given the option of deleting the comment, however, suppose for a moment that I copied the previous comment I wrote and did some revisions here-and-there before posting it again; it simply wont go through. This is due to a software that Google has implemented in which renders any comments that are vaguely similar to any previous comments that either you've made, or someone else has made on the site, and recognizes it as [b]spam[b]. This has made it exceedingly difficult to post any comments without having to go through the lengthy and tedious trouble of rewriting everything from scratch in the efforts to make it seem less palpable to be regarded as possible spam. But of course, another problem needs to be addressed here. The coding is another menacing issue. If you attempt to send a post which will later be regarded as spam by Google's software, it doesn't notify you that the comment was unsent vividly. YouTtube will notify you that if your comment has passed it's 500 limited character count, it will inform you how many characters your over the limit. If you've posted a comment during very similar times, it will notify you that you've exceeded your limitations for posting more comments and therefore, you are required to impute a code in order to further continue posting. However, it will [b]not[b] inform you about your comment being regarded as spam based solely on the fact that it's similar to another post made on the site. I've come to realize that the only indication that is made is by looking at the "post comment" button, if it doesn't change to "comment posted" and instead remains as "post comment," then the post wasn't sent successfully. The same problem can also be seen when posting on another users page. It wont notify you that you've exceeded the number of characters permissible by YouTube, so once you send the comment, it will say "Comment posted." However, if you refresh the page, your comment, that you've just posted, is no where to be found. But there's an even greater issue that lies with this predicament. You are unable to copy the comments that failed to process, which therein, forces you to start all over again and rewrite everything you spent your time on writing. This [b]needs to be addressed and fixed[b] and failure to do so is inexcusable. Whoever is responsible for permitting these problems to exist as long as it has should be reprehended. [b]The 10-minute cap[b] This is yet another problem with YouTube. Any video that exceeds 10:00 is subjected to removal without warning. It will however, notify you when the video is removed--very nice. Awhile ago, you were able to upload videos that exceeded the 10:00 length only if you were to have a directors account. But that, too, has been done and away with. And unfortunately you can only make a video that surpasses the 10 minute cap if you obtain a special account--which isn't free I may add. This is just plain bullocks. [b]Uploading videos[b] There's a tremendous issue with uploading videos. Uploads are like playing a game that involves dice; it's based almost on chance. Uploads are tenaciously difficult to process, and as a member of the site, I can tell you honestly that it usually takes around 12-34 hour waits to successfully process. This makes it especially difficult when I need a video to be published immediately and quickly. I'm a patient guy, however, for it to take at least a half of my day if not longer is an absurdity. I wont mention anything else, since this was my primary concern but I am sure everyone reading what I have to say has experienced the same, if not similar issues with the site. Daily Motion, Bolt, VidLife, Guba, OUOU, LiveVideo, and so on have been very good sharing sites of which I've enjoyed by far. However, I'm interested in hearing everyone's input.
