Haha. Be sure to try tail-sliding. Surface at a shallow angle and hit the "down" arrow. You can even tailslide and kick into the air to do some fun trick.

Ok, I figured out a new technique. Skim the surface - just jump out, land with nice entry, repeat. It's the fastest way I've figure out how to build that multiplier up as well as your speed. I managed to get TWO Mission to Mars jumps in during my last few seconds.
