I haven't changed from being me.
.................................................
A little older, a little quieter.
.................................................
But I haven't shut up.
.................................................
Ive learned there's alot of stuff I don't want to be bothered with .
.................................................
I don't want to come to work and fight.
.................................................
And I've gotten a little harder , just in my view of reality.
.................................................
There are some things you just can't get around.
.................................................
That in the eyes of the majority hiring, Im still first and foremost black.

The only thing my mom ever said to me was,"It may be tough, but what isn't?"

..................................................................................................
The lack of privacy is tough. I went to the bathroom once and people followed me in, and a lady put her hand up under the stall with a pen and a piece of paper, said she wanted my autograph, I said, could I just finish what Im doing first? So sometimes people just forget, or they grab you and they dont realise that, you know, you're a person that feels. They grab my hair.
..................................................................................................
People grab my hair and go, Whoopi>>> And not realise that I dont mind saying hello, but hey>> That hurt, you know. Or when you're rushing, or you're preoccupied and you just cant stop. People arent always understanding. And so you feel bad because you dont want them to think I'll think bad of you. And you...
