Here's the deal: Someone lists a quote, and the next person answers which play it is from.
Here is the point scale:
1 point for correct play
2 points for correct character
3 points for correct Act
4 points for correct Scene
Which means, when answering, there is a possibility of gaining ten points. But you don't have to list all. If you only know the play, by all means give just the play, and you'll earn yourself one point.
I'll keep score of the players in this post.
Players
Cinders: 1
courtney7488: 4
Here's the first one:
"Mislike me not for my complexion
The shadowed livery of the burnished sun
to whom I am a neighbor and near bred.
Bring me the fairest creature northward born
where Phoebus’ fire scarce thaws the icicles
and let us make incision for your love
to prove whose blood is reddest."
"Make me a willow cabin at your gate
And call upon my soul within the house,
Write loyal cantons of contemnèd love,
And sing them loud even in the dead of night"
I thought it was Viola or Olivia, couldn't remember.
Midsummer Night's Dream and I'm gonna guess one of Titania's attendants?
"Turn all her mother's pains and benefits
To laughter and contempt; that she may feel
How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is
To have a thankless child!"
1 point to Cinders! The quote is actually said by Titania.
King Lear, and it's said by King Lear.
"O, what a noble mind is here o'erthrown!
The courtier's, soldier's, scholar's eye, tongue, sword;
The expectancy and rose of the fair state,
The glass of fashion and the mould of form,
The observed of all observers!"
Tell you what-- we'll start with a REALLY EASY one, OK?
"A plague on both your houses!"
EDIT: BTW, the first quote was said by the Prince of Morocco, Merchant of Venice Act II, Scene i.
"Make me a willow cabin at your gate
And call upon my soul within the house,
Write loyal cantons of contemnèd love,
And sing them loud even in the dead of night"
That's Twelfth Night... Agh, can't remember the character though.
"Speak of me as I am; nothing extenuate,
Nor set down aught in malice: then must you speak
Of one that loved not wisely but too well."
Your quotes is from Othello, but I don't know the character.
"You spotted snakes with double tongue,
Thorny hedgehogs, be not seen;
Newts and blind-worms, do no wrong,
Come not near our fairy queen."
I thought it was Viola or Olivia, couldn't remember.
