Is it strange/impractical to write a novel in present tense?

I find it much more comfortable to write in present than in past, and I feel like it fits better with my style of writing as well as the plot, but I've heard that it appeals less to readers and makes it harder to get published. Any thoughts?

I've never read a book using present tense but I think if the stories good it wouldn't matter what tense are used.

I don't know, I am writing one of my stories in present tense because it is about what the narrarator is currently experiencing and I have lots of readers, but it's a online post so i'm not sure.

Yeah, I've written almost all my online stories in present tense, but this one I'm trying to take further and I want to know the best way to do that...

Not in my opinion. It jsut depend what you are writing. Sometimes horror stories are better in present tense.
