When the movie was over, I had no idea what I'd just seen.

We sat down in a restuarant.
It was so easy to talk to him. Not in the "Tia" way, but just that I felt I could say anything and not be judged.
I told him about the Michigan boyfriend, and he didn't stop laughing for a full minute.
"So I should probably not mess with your mom," he said.
"Probably not," I agreed, as I tried to stop laughing by forcing myself to take a sip of coke.
I ducked my head in an attempt to prevent another laughing fit, and the irritating piece of hair that I hated fell in my eyes.
His next movement shocked me; he gently brushed the offending strand behind mt ear. He'd never touched me before now.

I tried watching the movie, but failed miserably. Serena was just too fascinating.

The Two Sides of Me
Nobody knows it but there is a canyon in me
It splits me in two
Across the gap stretches a rope that is starting to unwind

On one side there is the child me
She created a world where pain never existed

She wears a tiara and a pretty pink party dress
She will always be playing tea party with her Babies
She sits in the middle of a friendly forest
She is surrounded by her family and friends
She will always believe that her father loves her
And would never hurt her
She will always be able to swim in the sea
She will always be able fly above the clouds
She refuses to look at the canyon, instead she pretends it doesnt exist

Kayla was raped in her own house.
What's more, her dad is reported to have committed suicide. Before he even heard that his own daughter needed him.
When I was little, I always had the blind faith in my mom. That she would always know which way to turn on the road. That if we got lost, everything would be fine.
That she would never desert me. Like Kayla's father has.
The girl is slumped against the wall, crying. You'd think that you'd eventually run out of tears, but you don't. It's just that, after a while, maybe you just don't have the strength to carry on any more.
You can dry up the tears you see, but you can never dry up the tears your heart sheds. Because when you cry, your heart gives up a little piece of itself that will always grieve. Always. I have every reason to know.
I put my hand on her shoulder, and she doesn't shake it off.
