Georgia Winters
Georgia Winters
Some actors play the same type of character in similar feeling projects over and over again. How boring, right?!

Well, actress Georgia Winters doesn’t seem to have that problem. The French and British bilingual actress has been showcasing her talents with global audiences in a variety of ways.

Currently, Georgia can be heard belting out a song as the Mother of Dragons in the series "Game of Thrones Animated"; sharing new age wisdom on the film festival circuit in the absurd Hollywood satire "Liars & Cheats"; and coming soon in a hush-hush role as part of the dark psychological indie thriller "Thorax." How’s that for variety?

Previously, Georgia gained attention alongside Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in the Wachowskis’ sci-fi thriller, “Jupiter Ascending.” Her credits also include the leading role in the horror thriller, “Where the Skin Lies,” directed by Michaël Boucherie and produced by Joy Harrison and Downton Abbey star Brendan Coyle. George first landed on screen at the age of 4 in Lorraine Groleau’s award-winning French film, “Josette au Beret.”

In between projects, Georgia Winters recently answered a few questions:

Tell us about your participation in the YouTube series “Game of Thrones Animated.”

GEORGIA: As one of the ‘Primetime Players’ on the Animation Vault I got to voice Danaerys the Mother of Dragons as well as multiple characters in the “Doctor Who Animated” - including the new Doctor! This was my first animation job and I was SO excited. The final “Game of Thrones Animated” is a musical extravaganza and I think G.O.T fans will love it.

How was it voicing multiple characters including the Mother of Dragons?

GEORGIA: I love voicing characters for animation - it's so much fun! The Mother of Dragons is such a kick-ass character. We actually recorded the vocals first and the Dominic (Polcino) animated around that. I love that Danaerys is so quick witted and direct and it was amazing to be directed by Dominic who has directed some of my favourite TV shows (“The Simpsons,” “Rick and Morty”). He was a joy to work with.

Any interesting stories from behind the scenes you can share with us?

GEORGIA: I recorded the vocals from my home studio in London. For the Game of Thrones musical extravaganza, I had to sing my heart out – you end up singing like crazy and then when you step out of the booth normal life is just carrying on. I discovered that when you’re voicing animation the booth becomes a sort of parallel universe, which is useful when you’re supposed to be riding a dragon in Westeros and Essos or in flying about in the TARDIS.

What can you tell us about your upcoming project, the indie thriller “Thorax”?

GEORGIA: “Thorax” is a dark psychological indie thriller, from American director/co-producer Douglas Rath and writer/producer Hannah Rath (the team behind AMC Shudder’s “Il Sonnambulo”). I play an enigmatic character called Josephine and star alongside the wonderful Gillian MacGregor (“The Stolen”) and William Ellis (“The Crown”). Further details are being kept tightly under wraps (sorry!) - but it will be scary.

You’re also in the comedy “Liars & Cheats”; what’s that all about?

GEORGIA: “Liars & Cheats” is an absurd Hollywood satire about the power of social media. I play a hard-partying agents’ assistant called Olya, who shares her new age wisdom on deaf ears. She was such a blast to play as she doesn’t care about social rank and just follows her own set of rules. The cast were awesome to work with and we actually rehearsed the whole script like a play - and shot the film in a week. Usually that would sound like a disaster waiting to happen but our director (Jacob Migicovsky) and producer (Fred Bonham Carter) both ran the set like ninjas. The film should be hitting the festival circuit in the fall. It’s bonkers and I’m really excited to be part of it and to share it soon!

If you could choose, do you prefer comedy or drama?

GEORGIA: Tough choice. But the world really needs to laugh at the moment, so today I’ll say comedy. It's nice to be able to goof around and laughter is a balm.

And, now just for fun:

Who’s your favorite actor/actress?

GEORGIA: Another hard question, so let’s say a mixture of Marlon Brando, Sydney Poitier, Audrey Hepburn, Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix. And Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. And Catherine O'Hara!

What role from the past do you wish you could have played?
GEORGIA: Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” She's actually quite a tormented soul isn't she, but she has such grace and humor.

Favorite movie or TV show from your childhood.
GEORGIA: I watched “Sister Act 2” Obsessively and also “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.
GEORGIA: I used to give legal advice to suspects in police stations - and last night I dreamt I was having a tea party with Dolly Parton and some friends and a flamingo rodeo.

THIS IS VERY URGENT AND NOT A JOKE! ALSO DON'T GOOF OFF!!!!

I really mean it! What would you be able to do if SOPA/TPP censors the internet? What would you be able to do if writing fanfics and drawing fanarts become illegal? What would you do if it's illegal to do a cover of your favorite song on YouTube? What would you do if downloading things from the internet (music, movies, TV episodes, etc) became illegal? What would you do if SOPA/TPP wins the war and takes away internet freedom? Net Neutrality is already dead so far, we can't risk the freedom of internet...
