Part 9) Alice's POV

"Alice?" I heard Jasper ask. "Alice, what did you see?" I blinked and came out of my vision. "We're close," I answered, taking his hand and walking at human pace towards the house. "Really close," I breathed. We walked into a clearing and saw a huge white house. Outside of the house were Carlisle, Esme, and Rosalie. I'd seen that Emmett and Edward were out hunting and weren't going to be here. That was good; it meant that there was a smaller chance of us being attacked. As we got into the clearing, however, Jasper walked slightly in front of me, being protective, as always....

I was talking to Jessica on the phone. It was a week after prom and I promised her we would talk -I called it gossiped- about how prom went and about the people there.

Well, I could call no one around me my brother and even in this heavily populated city I felt utterly alone. I had no companion but my own thoughts; and they were my enemy, they taunted me and filled me with disgust.
