Does anyone know what the symbol on the cup Tanaka is always drinking from means? I know it is Japanese, and I have seen it before, I just have no idea what it means. It's not "tea", I tried looking it up, but ran out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

I think I figured it out for myself. I looked up my Hirgana/Katakana list and it is the character "yu" which can mean "hot water." Seeing as you need hot water to make tea, it makes sense. Thanks Otaku_Girl 4890 anyway. Good try :)
