Chapter 3
The next morning as the daylight streamed into the bedroom Bones was lying next to Booth who was still asleep. She watched him and knew that she should have told him sooner her feelings but better late than never. She also knew that they should never have any more secrets between them and that she had to tell him she lied about the garage being locked.
Booth was starting to wake up and as he turned toward Bones, he saw that she was awake and looking at him with an agonized look on her face.
“Bones what is it?”
“Booth I have to tell you that I didn’t tell you the truth last night.”
Booth was now fully awake. He was preparing himself to hear that she really didn’t love him and that it was all a mistake. He knew he loved her but if she did not love him in the same way he was not going to push himself on her.
“Bones what is the truth.” He asked while almost holding his breathe waiting for the answer.
“The garage door can be opened even in a power outage.”
After saying this she waited to Booth’s reaction and was surprised when he started to laugh. She thought why is he laughing and he does have wonderful laugh.
“Bones is that it.”
“Yes I lied about the garage door not working.”
“It does not matter.”
“Yes it does I wanted you to stay here with me and I was afraid you would leave if you knew the garage would open.”
“Bones I have a confession as well. I wanted to stay with you and I already knew about the garage door. So when you said it would not open I went along with it.”
“So you knew?”
“Yes”
“Why did you want to stay?”
“For the same reason you did not want me to go.”
“Booth maybe we should go slowly and take this one step at a time.”
“Your right Bones, we should go slowly.” He said as he engulfed her with his arms and pulled her closer to him. He started by kissing her eyes and along her cheeks and finally to her lips which parted for his tongue. As he was kissing her he moved his hands along her body, his right hand enveloped her breast and his other hand was moving along her spine to that spot he found last night that stimulated her fervor. As his tongue met hers she could feel the warmth in her loins and as his hands moved along her body, she moved hers to arouse him. It wasn’t long before he was deep inside her bringing her to an intense orgasm.
“Booth” She said breathlessly as they lay together exhausted.
“Umm yes Bones”
“Do you have any idea what time it is?”
“No why?”
“Because Angela maybe coming over this afternoon. She was going to listen to me read my next book.”
“What time is she coming over?”
At that moment Booth and Bones heard the telephone ring. They turned their heads in unison and looked at the phone next to the bed. It rang again.
“Bones you better answer it.”
Bones leaned over and picked up the handset. “Hello”
Booth watched as she listened to the caller.
Bones sat up as she listened and then she replied. “Sure Angela some other time.”
Booth could tell by the way Bones was relaxing that Angela was not coming over so he started kissing the nape of her neck and moving his lips down her spine, stopping every inch to kiss it. Bones was still trying to speak on the phone and she was having trouble concentrating on the conversation because he distracting her with his kisses. She tried to wiggle away but he pulled her back and she was not following what Angela was saying.
Angela could tell that Brennan was not totally concentrating on what she was saying and so she started asking nonsensical questions.
Angela: “Bren I know I promised to come over but I need to see about getting some new overalls for my wardrobe. I was thinking of looking for plaid ones what do you think?”
Brennan: “Whatever you like.”
Angela: “Wendall and Hodgins are going with me shopping.”
Brennan: “That’s nice.” Angela could hear Brennan whisper “Stop it Booth I’m on the phone.”
Angela: “Brennan is there someone with you?” She asked this but she already knew the answer that there was someone and who that someone was.
Brennan: “What makes you ask?”
Angela: “Well it sounded like you have company and since it is the middle of the day. I thought Andrew may have come over since he missed you at the party last night.”
Brennan: “Andrew is not here and I have to go now. I’ll talk to you later.” She quickly hung up the phone because she did not what Angela to keep asking questions.
Bones then turned her attention back to Booth who she had pushed playfully away and who was now laying on his back on the bed. She then turned toward him and straddled him by swinging her right leg over the top of him. She then placed her hands on his chest as if she was pinning him down. He smiled up at her as he placed his hands on each of her butt cheeks and shifted her pelvis towards his; meanwhile she slowly moved her hands up his torso and was just leaning into him when they heard the ringing of the doorbell followed by a loud knock on the front door. Once again another interruption but this time they just froze waiting for another knock to come.
Booth: “Bones maybe if we keep quiet whoever it is will go away.”
There was another knock at the door.
Bones: “Booth I had better answer it because it sounds like this person will not go away.”
Booth reluctantly let Bones go to answer the door. As she headed for the door she quickly threw on a robe, he laid in bed listening. He heard her open the door and then he heard Hacker’s voice asking. “Temperance, I just wanted to check in on you. I missed you at the party last night.”
Bones: “Andrew, I have company and you need to leave.”
Andrew: “Well Temperance, maybe we can have coffee tomorrow?”
Bones: “I don’t think so.”
Andrew: “I’ll call you later when you don’t have company.”
“Yes, call me later.” Bones answered as she practically pushed Hacker out the door.
As she entered the bedroom she saw that Booth was starting to get dressed and he seemed upset about something so she asked. “What is it?”
“You told Hacker to call you later.”
“I had to get rid of him, why are you jealous?”
“No.” She could tell by the way he said it that he was lying.
“Don’t worry Booth I am in love with only one man.”
“Really and who might that be?”
“Well he works for the FBI and right now he is standing in his shorts in front of me.”
Booth was smiling as he walked towards her with the intention of yanking her out of the confines of the bathrobe when he heard his cell phone ring from the living room.
“Booth I think you had better answer it.”
“Yea, your right.” Booth walked into the living room and picked up his ringing phone.
“Booth.” Booth could not believe it. The caller was Hacker.
Hacker. “Agent Booth I need to ask you if you know anything about Temperance’s new boyfriend.”
Booth answered. “I am not aware she had anyone else that she was dating but then again it is her private life.” After saying that, Booth mouths to Bones that it is Hacker on the phone.
Hacker: “Well I just wanted to check if you knew of anyone else she is dating.”
Booth: “Is that all? I am rather preoccupied.”
Hacker: “Oh did I interrupt something important?”
“Just watching some games.” Booth lied. Bones meanwhile had sauntered over to Booth and playfully placed her hand down into the backside of his shorts and her robe had opened to reveal her soft white skin. Booth was trying to stop her hand and nearly dropped the phone. “Well boss the game is getting interesting and if there is nothing else.”
Hacker: “If you are watching the same game I am it looks like any minute there is going to be a touchdown.”
“Definitely a touchdown.” Booth muttered as he hung up the call. Bones by now had eased her body next to his and they were both sinking onto the floor in an amorous embrace.
Later in that afternoon as they lay in each others arms, Bones kissed Booth and said.
“Booth, come on.”
“Bones again?”
“No, but that’s not a bad idea, I was thinking we need to get dressed and get something to eat. Your stomach has been growling for the last hour.”
“That was not my stomach that was yours.”
“OK we are both hungry.”
“And afterwards we can go to my place for some desert.”
“Booth you know I don’t eat desert.”
“Who said anything about eating?”

“Yes it does I wanted you to stay here with me and I was afraid you would leave if you knew the garage would open.”
“Bones I have a confession as well. I wanted to stay with you and I already knew about the garage door. So when you said it would not open I went along with it.”
“So you knew?”
“Yes”
“Why did you want to stay?”
“For the same reason you did not want me to go.”
“Booth maybe we should go slowly and take this one step at a time.”
“Your right Bones, we should go slowly.” He said as he engulfed her with his arms and pulled her closer to him. “Bones you better answer it.”

Brennan: “Andrew is not here and I have to go now. I’ll talk to you later.” She quickly hung up the phone because she did not what Angela to keep asking questions.
