"Hello? Where am I?" Blake's mind was filling with questions. He turned around and looked at the sky. Nothing. The floor; nothing; around; nothing but pitch black. "Hello!?" he demanded.
"Hello," he saw his younger cousin sitting at his feet. "You know, I never thought my own cousin that used to be hyper and energetic, could be such a calm, brave leader like you."
"Bella?" Blake asked. His stomach filled with relief and he nudged her gently. "I never thought I would see you again. It doesn't seem like I'm dreaming."
"You are, but it seems to real, doesn't it?" she asked.
"But, why am I here?" Blake asked. "Why is it so black? I can't see anything but us."
"You're here to receive your nine lives, my child." a voice called. "Come here, my son. I miss you."
Blake saw his mother and felt like he was going to cry. He missed her as much as she did. He looked down, but Bella wasn't there anymore. "Mom," he mewed softly.
"Hush," she meowed. "And come and see me."
Blake jumped and landed softly next to her. She nudged him and purred softly. "If only I was still alive and could see you everyday." she mumbled sympathetically.
"Me too," Blake cried. He couldn't help but crying. He missed his mother so much.
"Don't cry, Blake, it's okay." his mother soothed him and licked his face. "Hush now. We will give you your nine lives."
Blake nodded and sat down, waiting. Cats came out of the black, and sat down around Blossom. Dusty stepped forward first.
"I give you your first life." he mewed. "Take it and you shall receive the way to care for your loved ones and never let them go." Dusty glanced at Bella. She winced and rolled her eyes.
Not knowing, the life surged through him, causing great pain. He guessed love was strong, that's why it hurt so much. "Th-thanks," he manged to say, standing up again. Dusty bowed his head and stepped back. Rose came forward this time.
"For your second life, I give you the power to choose right, and never steal."
This one felt like a cat had just punctured his stomach and a paw went through hid body from front to back. He yowled in alarm and pain, only to fall again. He couldn't manage to say anything. He noticed Bella had stepped forward and was waiting for him to get up.
"With this life I give you courage, and to stand tall with whatever pain that hurts you,"
This life didn't hurt as much, but it still stung him like a hard rat bite. He gritted his teeth and tried not to meow. Bella's mother, Bubbles, padded forward and touched noses with him. "My nephew, you have come so far." she mewed. "With this life I give you protection, and keep your children safe though and through." This life hurt worse than all the others. Blake thought about how much a mother cared for her kits and protected them. He blinked. That one was over. Blake saw Littlecloud next, his first friend.
"With this life I give you friendship and loyalty," she began. "It will help you get through battles, and whenever you are in need."
Blake got ready for the pain, but this one felt nice, and warm. He relaxed his shoulders, and let this one go through. "Thanks-" "Shh." she silenced him. "No talking." Littlecloud walked away. Blake noticed his mother and Bella parting, and a cat came through. Brisky! Blake gasped. But when this tom lifted his head, there was no slit in his right ear. Blake's ears lay flat to his head as he realized who it was. "Dad..." Brick touched his tail to Blake's mouth to silence him. "No talking." he rasped. Blake saw his father sigh and smile warmly. "My son, you've made a great leader and only if i could be alive to see you to this day." Blake took a step back at his father's words. He knew he couldn't speak, so he just glared at his father. "With this life I give you the reason to protect your Clan in the greatest dangers," His father meowed. "Use it whenever you're in trouble." This life felt like a hawk coming down and scratching his stomach wide. Blake yowled in pain and fell backward.
Brick stepped back and sat at the end of the crowd. Next Butch came forward; FireClan's former Deputy that died in a fight with a dog. He died like a warrior, saving his clanmates. "With this life I give you to stay loyal to the warrior code, and give your life for your Clan." Said Butch. "Use it wisely." As the life flew threw him, Blake thought of when he was just a kit and Butch trained him and took him out hunting. Butch was always his favorite uncle.
Finally, his mother stepped forward and nudged him on the muzzle. "For your eighth life I give you love, and care. Use it for your kits and mate, never leave their side in danger." The way this life hurt was like fire burning his insides. Blake hugged his stomach and fell to the floor.
He got up, and realized there were no more cats to give him his ninth life. Everyone was gone, and he was left alone. Blake mewed in sadness. Had they forgotten to give him his final life? Before he could think anymore, clouds swerved around and a figure came out from them. "Hello, my old mentor," the voice purred. "It's me."
Blake's jaw dropped, and he stared at his nephew. "Brisky-" "I thought we told you not to talk," Brisky laughed. "For your ninth and final life, I give you honesty. Always be honest, and never lie. You must fight like a warrior and live like a cat. Never let your Clan down and always be there for them." Blake purred. "And you're right," Brisky put in. "You've always been like a father to me."
