I hope I don't disappoint you with my second article. So here it goes...
People are asking me why I ship Brucas, I can't come up with an immediate answer besides I love how they make me feel. They give me butterflies in the stomach, they make me feel everything that happens to them, whether good or bad. I laugh with them, I cry with them, I sometimes even hate with them. Most of all, I share life experiences with them, lessons which are with me forever.
1. There is a first time for everything, so don't be afraid to jump in.
We saw many firsts between Brooke and Lucas. Lucas is Brooke's first boyfriend, the first one she gave rat's ass about. Brooke is the first cheerleader Lucas dated.
First times - it scares the hell out of us. I guess uncertainty is the main reason why. We are never certain what to expect, no one can give us enough warning, no one can say if we've prepared enough. We can take all the precaution and still end up getting hurt, despite our efforts. But still, Brucas took that leap of fate without knowing what's in store for them. Was it worth it? You tell me.
2. It's alright to feel pain but don't forget to get out of it, or else, you'll drown.
In short, forgive and move on. This is one trait I will never forget about Brooke and Lucas. Brooke has forgiven Lucas from cheating with Peyton and in return, Lucas forgave Brooke from sleeping with Chris Keller. They both got mad instantly, and it seemed like things are irreparable but they did forgive each other and after that is just pure Brucas love. Brooke and Lucas knows how to mend a broken heart - Brooke starting C|B in s3 and s4, Lucas became a major bitch and painted their red door black - and Peyton, well, just sulks in it, and never confronts her feelings. That's one difference there, when things go wrong, Leyton just go separate ways and never has closure because they don't talk about it. They're lucky if ever they do get a chance to talk! Whereas with Brucas, they can never be not friends. We get 7 episodes of no BL action and what do we get for the 8th episode? Total BL flirting! :D
When Leyton fans say that they are always drawn to each other, I can say the same thing for Brucas. The only season they aren't really friends is season 4, maybe because she is in disbelief that a crappy couple does exist! And you know I can go on, but I think the main point has been proven.
3. Talk. It's good for you.
I've expressed that the Brucas relationship is more realistic and that's because they have issues and they are ready to talk about it. They are shy but that doesn't keep them from telling how they feel, hence, they've had so many confessions. One is Brooke telling Lucas that she wished Lucas can save her from all of it. It is hard to admit that, making yourself vulnerable and letting your guards down when once it has hurt you. As for Lucas, he still has a promise he should not break. This brings me to a whole new perspective: Lucas not letting Brooke all the way in. IMO, Lucas did let Brooke in. My main reason to believe such is because he took her to the rivercourt that night. It is his world and she get to be the biggest part of it. Their relationship was young, and not flawless. Brooke may have never understood it that time - she never get to experience losing a parent because she never had one, to begin with. She can never imagine how hard it is for Lucas Scott. He never called her because he was afraid he might hurt Brooke again (@ the party) but that's just me, I may have just made this up. But Lucas did tell Brooke about the kiss, right? It may not have been at the time he should, but he did. And so Lucas was willing to let Brooke all the way in. He had his chance, and when he was about to, he lost it. As I said, their relationship was young, and not flawless. And going back to my point, see when they become all Leyton and not talk, BOOM! There goes their relationship.
So who are people to say that Brucas was all physical? They taught me things that Leyton never will. Again, a toast to Brucas and all their fans. Cheers! :]
