Are you passionate, truly passionate, about a particular TV show, series of books or films? If you have ever felt the real, demented fervour and devotion of the true fanatic, about, say, a show like Lost, or 24, or Dr Who (or really whatever, because the heart is eccentric and unpredictable, and the weirdest shows and mythologies can inspire the most wacky love and tenderness), then you have very likely explored the deep, dark underworld that is fan fiction.
