I don't think it's bad to listen to Christian music in a rock-n-roll form. God wants us to praise him, to listen to GOOD music (that praises Him). I believe God reaches out to us in all different ways. Music is one way. And today's music has so many different styles. Music is an excellent way to 'reach out and touch someone'! Ask your Dad to listen to the words of the music.

He grew up in a different era. He was taught in the old ways, as was I. If you can find the written words of a song and then have him read it without the rock music, then maybe he can appreciate it.

Christian rock is the gospel music of the new generation. Everyone worships in their own way. Hundreds of years ago, they had no radio or television, and had to spread the word via missionaries. But today, why not utilize technology in a way that celebrates your faith?

I wouldn't worry about it, if I were you. My uncle is a pastor in a University town, and uses several contemporary compositions that appeal to his college-aged flock. I don't think God minds how you worship, just that you worship.

I think that it should be fine. The messages are obviously okay. Maybe your dad means that they focus more on their "rock star image" than they do their music and message.

Nope. Absolutely no problem there at all.
Gospel and Christian music comes in many different forms and genres, rock is definitely one of them.
I think your dad doesn't like it because he's probably used to the genres that older generation Christians prefer. if you know what I mean.

I think the question here is, is it wrong to express your self in your beliefs, and is it wrong to relate with others that do?
