Masterminds is a 2016 comedy film. The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, and Owen Wilson. The film got mostly bad reviews which is normal for comedy films. The film is a adaption of real life events. I'm not joking.
The Plot:
David Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis) is a Loomis Fargo worker. Despite being engaged he has a crush on of his co-workers (Kristen Wiig). His crush has a greedy friend (Owen Wilson) who wants to rob Loomis Fargo. David robs Loomis Fargo and tries to get his crush to date him and avoid getting arrested.
The plot of this film is actually good. The plot is unique enough to be interesting. The plot is good enough to make this film entertaining. The plot is really good for most of the film. There's a subplot involving David dealing with a hit man that was kind of boring, but the rest of the plot is really good.
The Cast:
David is a weirdly likeable protagonist despite doing some bad stuff. Zach Galifianakis does a good job at playing David. David is a very funny guy. Kristen Wiig is pretty good as David's crush. Owen Wilson is very charming and entertaining as the main villain. Kate McKinnon is good at playing the eccentric person that David is engaged to. The only cast member I didn't like is Jason Sudekikis who has a boring subplot as a hitman that David becomes friends with.
The Visuals:
Well there's usually not much to mention to the visuals of comedy films, but this film looks good. Most of the locations are decent, but the villain's mansion and the area around it is impressive.
The Overall:
This film is a interesting, well acted, and fun comedy film that I recommend.
