Devina walked among the gravestones, her blonde-red hair raving in the ghostly breeze. she found an open grave and smiled, crawling down into it. she had left her duffel bag here, and now she opened it, pulling out a red sleeping bag and a hello kitty pillow. she zipped it up and yawned. without taking her headband out, she drifted off to sleep, where she entered Nightmare Rift.

she arrived on a boat she never boarded, and when she got off she was in a dark place, even more evil and deathly looking that the Under World. she walked around, ever step making a horrible sound that seemed like bones breaking. but when she looked there was only dead, blackened grass around her feet. she shuddered. she sat herself on a small rock about the size of a chair and put her feet up. when she went to put them down, there was nothing. she got on her knees and looked down and around, where she gasped. all around her was dark, splashing water about a hundred feet below, jagged rocks pocking there heads out of the swirling dark navy. she saw the she was on a thin structure that was about to break. and it did.

she screamed and desperately reached out to grab something, but there was nothing, and there seamed to be no air to scream in as she plummeted. the farther she fell, the farther it was from the water. she closed her eyes, and felt the sting of the icy water hit her head first.

Devina sat up straight, panting in fear. she finally stopped and noticed it was daytime, and she was still in the open grave. she smiled. everything was how she liked it now, and it had all been a simple dream. she gathered her things into her duffel bag and headed off. she left it in a large hole bellow a tree. she had checked, and there was nothing in it. it was just erosion, or maybe a really old animal burrow. she headed off to school, since she was ALWAYS in her school girl uniform.

"there you are." Junior said when she had finally gotten to 3rd hour. "where were you?" "Oh, you know, just doing stuff." she said with almost no emotion. MiniMandy came up. "thou art here!" she rejoiced, hugging Devina. "erf.... oxygen becoming an issue." she gasped.. "sorry!" and with that Minnie let her go from the suffocating hug. "eh, it's ok." Devina sighed when she heard the bell ring. truthfully, she didn't like Minnie all that much. but she was Juniors sister, so the mortal felt it was only fair to at least PRETEND to like her. and she had to sit next to the zombie-like-girl in 4th hour, Language Arts. she was happy though since Junior was her assigned lab partner in last hour, science.

her thoughts were interrupted by Minnie pulling on her arm. "we gotta get to L. A. class!" she squealed. the name sort of glamorized Language Arts, so Devina went along with it.

after school, Devina's hair smelled like fir and the ends were burnt. her face was almost priceless. "hey, how was i supposed to know the difference between grey play doe and sodium?" Grim Jr. asked, trying to make up for the "accident" while they walked to the graveyard. they had an hour till Mandy picked him and Minnie up, so Devina twirled a small group of hairs around with her finger as she listened to his never ending apology.
