Favorite Disney Princess rankings blah blah blah.
Big thank you, again, to CuteDiana
Tiana and Aurora were originally tied, but I did a tiebreaker pick and Tiana won.
I'm a little bit surprised Aurora came in last place, because she has a number of people who have her as number 1, but then a whole bucketload of people have her in their bottom three. Once upon a time, Aurora was my favorite princess, so I understand why people like her. She's dreamy, and sweet, and I think captivating in the few minutes she's in the movie. But some others find her boring and lacking in personality. I personally think you have to like the movie somewhat to love Aurora; if the movie bores you then by the time you get to Aurora you'll be bored by her too.
DreamyGal picked (10)
"I find Aurora really underrated. People always talk about how boring and weak she is, which I get really sick of. I think Aurora's really wonderful. She has this angelic vibe to her, and she's so princessy and cute. Her scenes in the woods are really soothing; she's a breath of fresh air. I hate when people judge her for crying about Phillip, "You just met him! Stop crying!" Dude, it's a DISNEY MOVIE. Ariel never spoke to Eric when she said that she loved him; he didn't even know that she existed. I just think that when people criticize Aurora for her reaction to losing Phillip is really hypocritical."
She's the least talked about princess on the site, to me anyway, sometimes I forget she's there. She doesn't have a bubbly, fun, typical disney princess personality, and those who love her seem to appreciate her for it. People who don't like her just seem to find her plain and dull.
"I'm still trying to find way to put her higher on my list. She is really refreshing. Compared to other princesses, she doesn't bother through 5 songs about wanting something, somewhere, somehow. She's straightforward, doing everything to achieve her dream and I think it's very admirable."
Well I can understand this one as well. Sure, she appears to lose her personality (to some people) after she meets John Smith. And she's not smiley then either, she's always mopey and posing on cliffs. Even I can't really explain why I like her so much.
"I can't not mention Pocahontas. She tends to get a lot of hate - people call her boring and dull. Seriously, she jumps off fucking cliffs! And there is no way she loses her personality when Smithy comes into her life - did everyone else miss Colours of the Wind? She teaches him about nature by cuddling wild animals, flying down waterfalls, and standing on mountains with birds of prey. Oh no, that's not fun or interesting at all! She's such an amazing person and she always tries to do what's right for both her and for other people. I think she's super sweet and a really strong-minded personality. She don't take none of your bullshit."
This girl and the previous four are always in the bottom four, so this isn't too surprising at all. Those who love Snow White find her sweet, charming, and just a bundle of fun. Those who don't find her stupid and weak. *bites tongue* We pretty much know the drill about Snow White.
"Snow White- I love how she is so motherly and kind. I love that she is innocent. I can relate to Snow White the most I think when it comes to motherly instincts. I love her cute little high pitched voice. I think she is very pretty with her black hair, rosy cheeks, fair skin, and rosy lips. Her story is the most heart-breaking to me. It gets me everytime I watch her movie. She is my favorite because I can relate to her the most and well, she is just so darn cute.
Now this one was surprising, a little. She usually is in the top 3. But I've noticed her rankings slipping a little more. Again, people seem to prefer the "I want more", very disney princessy princess. Mulan just isn't one of those. But no one seems to really dislike Mulan, and I can't see how. Only 2 people put Mulan as their #1. The interesting thing I saw was a lot of people had Mulan and Belle close together in rankings. Like If Belle was #1, Mulan would be #2 or #3. Or if Belle was #5, Mulan would be #6 or #7. And also I think before Mulan had much less people who put her as #10.
" really don't know what to write about her that won't sound cliche. I guess what I love about her that she is so insecure, her real personality is repressed because of the society, but yet, she finds the strength to break all the rules, all traditions, to risk to be very likely killed, because of her father. That's very selfless and brave. Also she is incredibly smart. She comes up with an idea in minute, in really stressful situations, and all of her plans work."
Least surprising rank, Cinderella always ends up in the middle. It's simple, you either like her sweet and subtle personality or you find her weak and boring. Only one person put Cinderella as their #1.
"She is the ultimate epitome of a Princess. She embodies all of the characterisitics one should have. Of course I'm just a tad bit biased because she's been my favorite since childhood, but still!
Now this one surprised me very much. Because I expected her to be at least in the top 3, especially with Mulan knocked down so many notches. And I'm surprised by who beat her. Okay, so people either LOVE Belle, they find her smart, sweet, and ahead of her time, or they find her too perfect, snobby, and not ambitious. For me it's a mix.
"I love everything about Belle. She's a dreamer, she's elegant and sweet. I really respect her for trading her freedom for her father - having in mind she valued freedom so much only shows what a strong character she is, and how much she cares about her father (unlike other DP heroines, like Ariel and Jasmine). She's not naive and what I admire about her is that she is a strong and progressive young woman, much ahead of her time.
What??! This rank really surprised me. How did Jasmine get so high? When did that happen? I'm happy for her, but very surprised....especially that she beat Mulan AND Belle. But only 3 people put Jasmine in their bottom 3, and only 1 for each. Anyway, people find Jasmine either sassy and smart, or spoiled and selfish. Basically anything starting with the letter "s".Only 3
"Jasmine- I don't see her as selfish, spoiled, and rude at all. So she's like that for a good reason, she's never been aloud to do a thing on her own. She's never been outside the palace wall so she has ZIPO freedom, and her only friend is a tiger. So what if she ran away? I don't blame her, because her life was horrible. Plus she was being forced to get married, I mean come on. Who on earth wants to marry someone for money and power and not love? Whoever does, your a complete idiot you stupid gold digger. Anyway, Jasmine had perfectly good reasons acting as she did."
(Kataralover...punctuation by princesslullaby)
I just want to say that I would totally marry someone for money and power, because I would be perfectly content if I never got married for the rest of my life, so if I never found someone I love I'd marry someone with money & power. But of course I would choose love over money/power everytime. :D
RAPUNZEL IS HIGH BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE HER.
Okay, okay. Rapunzel is high because she has the generic disney princess personality that people like, being spunky and fun. Others find her a repeat who gets annoying progressively as the movie goes on and is a total mary sue. Even more than Belle. Ahem. No one put Rapunzel as number 10.
"Rapunzel, i love her, i think she a GREAT add to the DPs, i love her personality and the way she handle things, she's funny without knowing it, kinda naive, but absolutely adorable. i don't think she's a Mary Sue AT ALL, she has a LOT of flaws, and can really be pain in the butt, i just think that people now are SO IN LOVE with Tangled that they love Punz based on it, IMO Tangled is a HUGE success compared to PatF, so no i don't think she's a Mary Sue.
Well obviously Ariel is first, every single user on fanpop loves her and wishes they could be her. She's Chuck Norris', and God's favorite princess so if you want to get into heaven you don't have a choice but to love her.
lol ok, so Ariel is undoubtedly the most flawed princess, but also the most relatable too. She's determined and fun, but brave. But some people also consider her a complete idiot for giving up her voice, and very selfish. Most of Ariel's rankings are in the top 3.
I'm being selfish and quoting myself.
"I absolutely love Ariel and she means so much to me. She shows so much determination and strength, and is willing to give up so much for one little moment of happiness. I love anyone who will sacrifice for a dream."
