No because they would have turned him into some unbelievably annoying sidekick who never knows when to shut up. At least he's cute when he doesn't talk.

No. I love his funny eyes & expressions by them self. It's funnier & cuter that way. But I do love sidekicks who talk too. It's cute for a cartoon. and I do like Ray. I thought he was sweet and very funny.
