Well, I managed to be able to see the Broadway show of The Little Mermaid, something I’ve dreamed of experiencing since the moment I heard about the Broadway show years ago. Most of you know that Disney’s The Little Mermaid is both my favorite Disney movie and one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME, so this was MAJOR for me! I also was lucky enough to see the original Broadway show on youtube, starring Sierra Boggess as Ariel herself, that show was amazing with many great new songs, capturing the characters I loved so much while giving them a new spin, and clever writing.
Hi guys, since there was a poll about these 2 movies. It would be interesting if I were to compare both movies.
Okay, many of you all know about her real-life story. However, in the Disney adaptation of her life. She first set eyes on John Smith, to whom she will save later on in the movie. When I watched this film again, they remind me of both Maria & Tony due to the fact that they are of different ethnicity and difficult complications arose when both parties declare war with each other. During the fight between John Smith & Kocuum, the scene resembles to the Rumble between...
haterz will claim Let It Go was furthering the gay agenda, rlly I was just talking about my powers lol it ain't that deep
But was the world "ready" for women to vote when they were allowed to vote with the nineteenth amendment? Was the world "ready" for school integration in Brown v. Board? Was the world "ready" to legalize gay marriage when it did? (Sorry I'm basing this all off of American examples, as I am American and I know a large portion of this site is) The answer to all of those questions is, if you define ready as an overwhelming support, no. But that didn't stop them from happening, and in my opinion it shouldn't stop this either.
The world is never going to be "ready" for change. It's simply impossible...
Who do you choose? Live-action reboot or Animated???
So, since Disney has release 2 live-action reboots of their Disney classic animated feature. Here is what I think about which movie is better, as well as their animated counterparts.
Cinderella (1950 & 2015)
I would definitely go for the live-action version, as mentioned in my previous articles. Ella has more personality compare to her animated counterpart, and of course, less screen-time for the mice. However, no Bruno the dog! Also, no songs in it. I wish it was, but on the other hand, the producers and Kenneth Brannagh didn't want the movie to be to close to its original 1950 animated...
This is my ranking of the princes. This is probably going to be one of my harder articles so please don't be rude.
12. Hans- I can't even describe how much I dislike this character. I hate the idea that the handsome prince has to be a jerk. One of the things I really hate about Frozen is that it mocks the love at first sight of the Walt era princess films. Yes you don't marry a guy you just met but I think most people are smart enough to know that, it's just common sense, yes there is no such thing as love at first sight but that's because they're fairytales and fairytales aren't suppose to...
Here's my quick ranking on original DP films in part 1 of this article series. Part 2 will follow with all the sequels, prequels and shorts. Hope you'll enjoy it!
12. Princess and the frog: I found the script to be very lazily written, with no wow moments to remember and no surprising twists. The movie crawled at deathly slow pace, making me skip scenes in between. The animation was pretty average with nothing memorable except a few scenes in bayou and death of Dr. Facilier. I found the sett ups to be unflattering and lacked the Disney magic feel to it. The best set-up from the entire movie was...
At long last, here is the interview with our February 2015 Fan of the Month, wavesurf!
1. How does it feel to be Fan of the Month?
It was unexpected, actually. I was pretty surprised. I'm not on here as often as some people, and I don't make as much of a contribution as some other really, really active members...so it was a surprise for me. But a good surprise. I thank you all!!!! :D
2. Your favorite Princess? Why?
One of my favorites is Ariel, from when I was a kid. I still relate to her, and she only ever got bumped down one spot. The reason for that was a change in 1998, after I saw Mulan. Mulan...
