Paperhouse is a 1988 British dark fantasy film about a young girl lost in the loneliness and boredom of reality finds solace in an ill boy, whom she can visit in a surreal dream world that she drew in her school composition book.
Said to be the first science-fiction novel, or one of them, by Johannes Kepler. Written in 1608 but not published until 1634. Kepler describes his dream world of traveling and landing on the moon, four hundred years before the actual moon landing.
Tideland is a 2005 British-Canadian science fiction fantasy film. Because of the actions of her irresponsible parents, a young girl is left alone on a decrepit country estate and survives inside her fantastic imagination.
