Chapter 12
Awake
Emmett's POV
“Uhh..gh” I moaned as another shot of pain sped thru me, even though this was nothing compared to the fire I had felt over the past few days.
I heard a sniffle and a hand on my arm. It was…comforting.
I could tell all the pain was coming to an end soon. “Ouch…” I groaned starting to move my arm, “uhhh…”
There was a cool cloth on my fore head; it was helping the constant headache but the coldness against my sweaty skin made me uncomfortable. I reached up and took hold of a small arm that was soon out of my grip but replaced with a fragile hand.
Everything stopped…all the pain was gone…my energy was limited but I felt…great!
I opened my eyes to be met be a beautiful angel. She had honey eyes, long blond hair, and a flawless face.
“A…an…angel…” I croaked.
She laughed a stunning laugh shaking her head. “Are you alright?” she asked, concerned.
“Yya…yes…” I whispered.
“Good.” She smiled a small smile and so did I.
I tried to sit up but my strength was yet back to normal, the Angel put one hand on my back and the other on my arm helping me.
“Thank you.” I said simply lost in her face. “Angel…”
She put up her hand signaling me to stop. “I’m not an Angel…far from it actually.” She admitted hanging her head.
I put a finger under her chin and lifted her head. A feeling came that I had never felt before…a spark. Of Love?
I like it…!
“Then what is your name?” I asked with my hand still holding her head.
“Rosalie…Rosalie Lillian Hale…Cullen” She whispered looking upset.
“Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” I smiled.
“What’s yours?” she replied and took my hand and held it softly.
“Emmett Dale McCarty” I said proudly and laughed and this time so did she.
“I see you’re feeling well,” she observed.
“Actually, I feel fantastic!” I boomed.
All she did was smile…which made me smile, too.
There was a silence between us but it was not uncomfortable…it was peaceful.
I stared at her for a while thinking about everything…and it all came flooding back.
The hunting trip…
The bear…
The Angel…
The Pain…
She was the same Angel that saved me…and how could she save me if he bear pretty much killed me?
“Rosalie?” I asked loving the way her name spilled of my tongue.
“Yes, Emmett?”
“I was attacked by a bear, right?” I was suspicious and curious.
“Yes” she sounded ashamed and upset, again.
“Then why am I…alive?”
