Hi everyone! This is Kristina_Beauty! This is my fourth article...so please don't judge it...ANYWAY! Great news everyone! I'm writing a series called Handy Kristina McDandy that will help newcomers and gurus on Fanpop learn new things! I've written two Handy Kristina McDandy articles so far, and I'm STUCK!!!

So far I've written a how to get a profile picture on Fanpop article and a how to message someone on Fanpop article. What should I write about next?! Tell me your answer in the comments section below, and I'll choose one and write about it in my next article!!!

Don't worry if your answer isn't chosen. I promise to write about every single answer that shows up in the comments (or in my inbox)! So please provide me with several!!!! You can even do TEN!!!!!

One-Fan Spots

Just a few of the hundreds

After creating my link spot and noting the severe lack of members, curiosity got me to searching for spots on Fanpop that only had a single member (generally, their creator).

I came across spots that were months old and still only had a single member such as Chel's link spot, harold's link spot, or berly's link spot. And I thought to myself, these spots were created to meet other fans and yet there appeared to be no other fans of these topics on all of fanpop? Ridiculous! Or... maybe it's true.

Some of the one-fan spots seemed very obscure (to me, at least), so it's quite possible that there...

Right, I have been thinking about this. I have been thinking about certain things on Fanpop recently and as much as I love this place there are certain things that irk me.

Hate Spots
I've seen spots that are about hating a certain thing. I thought this place was more about sharing things we enjoy so we can give each other images, links, videos, etc not "oh I hate this and this and this". It doesn't make anything friendly.

Me Me Me Spots
I mean no offence to anyone that has these kinds of spots and has created them but Fanpop isn't MySpace or any of those other social networks. It's a different...

I can't believe it's been a whole year!

Today marks our 1-year anniversary of launching the Fanpop public beta! That's right folks, it was one year ago today that we pressed the button and unveiled Fanpop to the world wide web. And since then, we've had millions and millions of people come to the site. It's been great because we've gotten to know so many of you through the community. Whether it be in a fun forum game like A-Z in Heroes or a heat Picks debate about vanilla vs. chocolate, we've really bonded with our users over the past year.

Determining need
So, you are a fan of some topic and want to post a bunch of links for it, right? Before you create a club for it, you need to make sure that there isn't already a club that covers that territory. Duplicate clubs get reported and may eventually be removed from the site, so this is important: always perform a thorough search for your topic before you create a new club!
