Yeah, you're like "OH MA GAWD FANPOP IS ON DA WIKI!!!!!! MUST EDIT!!!!"
Please. NO. Don't. First off, this exact same article has been deleted numerous times and this one may be short lived as well if you don't give NOTABLE info to it. Writing things like "LATINLOVER IS DA HOTTEST FANPOPPER" will not get us far. Here are some tips to keeping the article on Wikipedia for good this time:

-Make the article look authentic. Not being a Wikipedia wizz myself I had no idea how to add tables and the like to the article. If you're experienced at Wiki-ing it would be obliged very much if you give the article some nice looking details and improve the overall writing.

-Chek yore speling nd gramerr!!!1 If dey think were a bnch of dofuses (nd a large majrity of us arn't) ths artikl will bee gon in a flash!

-Make the article longer and add more facts to it, such as things you can do on the website and some history about it's creation.

Please listen to these tips- they're not guidelines-because if you don't help make this article good it won't last long. This is a chance to give Fanpop some notability and it's up to us!

germany123 yeah i mentioned that in the appropriate places..that the faqs need an update. anway..props are not higher or lower than medals. props are given by users and medals are awarded by the site http://www.fanpop.com/spots/fanpop/articles/7856 you cant say one is "better" or means more..they are just different.

astroasis I don't know... I think the entire Wiki page reads more like a gigantic ad for the site than an actual unbiased and informative article about the site. This could be part of the reason why it keeps being deleted. The "Commercial" section is the worst in this respect. It comes off as spam geared at selling adspace. And that the majority of the article consists of "site reception" (which, in turn, is mostly quotes from users repeating the same ideas about how much they like the site) doesn't help, either. Also, I think the "popular picks" need to go. They may seem popular to you guys, but the majority of the site is probably more interested in non-popper-related picks. The majority of the picks on this site are about TV shows, movies, characters, opinions, etc - not about a handful of popular users. This "section" is mis-representing the site itself and may even turn people off. I see this article getting deleted again soon. I'm just saying.

hm94991 I agree about the commercial part, and I deleted it. All that's left is the example page.

Cammie Okay, I've checked it again and I must say it doesn't look too bad but I do agree in part with what astro said. I think,at this point, DoctorSpud should send out an SOS to the F4 for some assistance. Personally I think it would be a shame if the article was deleted again but I do see that happening if different users keep on going backwards and forward, editing and deleting content.

Cammie Very good thinking DrS, I think we need to get some sort of stragedy going here. In the 24 hours or so that article has been up it's been altered numerous times. My problem with that is that it makes us (Fanpop) look unprofessional. hm: Camsterdam? I like it, dude!

Spotty_Vision21 Uh, I changed the higher/lower thing on props/medals a while ago... why are we still talking about it?

hooch-is-crazy I edited the Fanpop history, it was extremely inaccurate. (The order of when things were added and such was wrong)

astroasis What kind of hyperlinks did you want to add? Any address you put in will immediately become a link - but to make it a text link, you have to put it in square brackets and add the text into the brackets. It looks silly, but it would go like this: [http://www.fanpop.com/ Fanpop Main Page] and it would give you a link to fanpop.com with the text "Fanpop Main Page" Of course, there's different ways to link to other Wikipedia pages and to link to references. The example above is mostly just for the External Links section or other similar uses. I guess it would help if I knew what you wanted to link.

hooch-is-crazy Thanks, I Googled "Fanpop press reviews" and found them. At the top of the article though, it says it may need to be "wikified" to reach the quality standards.

O how much joy do we all get when we find out we have a prop or are a dedicated fan. It shows how are hard work of adding and loving our time on the site is paying off.

I woke this morn and loged on like every morning just to find out i am now a die-hard fan of Heroes YAY was the first thing to go through my head the joy O the joy. But my joy ended as fast as it came when another user left me an abusive comment i won't give names *cough* calippo87 *cough*, but they called me a 'gay lord' on for a pick i made this was just uneeded. :(

Okay, so there are ten links of misplaced videos. But thats nothing. Hulu has uploaded hundreds of videos, and many of them are misplaced. If you find a link to a misplaced video, put it in the comments. Maybe, just maybe, we can get rid of Hulu.

The only game on fanpop is pop quiz (except the games fans makes in the fourms). It's so much fun to answer and do questions and try to be at the top list. But there is only one game like that, so i come up with an idea.
I'll be like the pop quiz with a top list and the fans makes all the matches and you can report them (you can't remove them by yourself), everyone can comment the match after doig them and it'll shows who has done every match and how hard every match is (%), as i said it's pretty much like pop quiz!

The update idea

For quite a while I've been commenting on other people's picks and waiting for a reply, and refreshing the page, and refreshing the page, and refreshing the page, only to find that they haven't replied for 2 days and finally figure that they have probably gone on holiday or actually have a life.

So I have thought up an idea to keep us aware of any comments on our comments.... whatever; anyway I have thought up of a "keep me updated" button; this means that comments appear in our update box as if we owned the content.

I like to post my ideas in an article rather than a suggestions email because I like to see what my fellow fans think. If it's getting annoying I'll email you guys like everyone else does.

Ok, this is my first time to write a soapbox. Please be gentle with me and don't make it hurt too much. *giggle*

So I've been a member of Fanpop for a little while now, and I've seen how the community has evolved and grown. I first came to Fanpop for two reasons: link and link.

Towards the end of Season 1 of Heroes, my interest in Fanpop started waning. Call it TV burnout. But a funny thing happened: Dave sent me a message about a new feature that was going to debut: Picks! I dabbbled in it a little by adding the pick: link It was fun, but I didn't think I'd be creative enough to add any good...
