I slowly walked into the front office and went up to the front desk.
“Um, excuse me,” I said. The woman looked up and smiled.
“You must be Mai Takaki.” She said, grabbing my schedule off the desk. She handed it to me and smiled again. “Your classroom is down the hallway to the right. If you need anything else just ask one of the student council members.” I nodded and left the office. I walked down the hallway, my skirt swishing with every step.
“I hate skirts.” I grumbled to myself. My hip length strawberry–blonde hair swayed simultaneously with my skirt. I could feel everyone’s eyes on me as I passed. I saw a group of girls looking at me and whispering. They were wearing buttons that had a “Y” and a crown on their shirts. I got to the end of the hallway and stopped. "Where am I supposed to go now?" I thought.
“Can I help you?” I heard a voice from behind. I spun around to see a beautiful silver hair boy smiling at me. I smiled back.
“Yes,” I said. “I’m new and I can’t seem to find my classroom.” I showed him my schedule. Behind him, the girls from before were now giving me the death stare. "What’s wrong with them?" I thought.
“Well what a coincidence,” the boy said. I turned my eyes back towards him. “We’re in the same class. I’m done with my duties, so why don’t I escort you there.” He picked up his bag and led me down the hallway.
“Um,” I said. “What was wrong with those girls back there?” He rolled his eyes.
“Just ignore them,” He said. “Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask your name.”
“Mai Takaki.”
“Nice to meet you Ms. Takaki. My name is Yuki Sohma.” "He’s so formal," I thought. We arrived to the classroom with the sign “1-D” hanging over it. He gestured to me to go in first. "Very formal," I thought. He walked in behind me and took his seat next to a perky looking burnette. I walked up to the teacher.
“Oh,” she said. “You must be Mai Takaki.” I nodded. The bell rang and everyone sat down in their seats. “Let me find a seat for you. Ah, here we go. You can sit over there.” She pointed to the only available seat next to an orange haired boy, who was staring out the window. I walked over and put my stuff on the desk.
“Hi.” I said trying to be friendly. Rolled his eyes. “Okay then.” I said putting my arms in the surrender position next to my body. I sat down and started to listen to the teacher.
