Everything was hazy, like drifting through a fog. She looked down to find her feet buried ankle-deep in marky water. "What?-" Charlotte asked the air around her, as if an answer would appear to her in that instance. A clicking sound echoed around her, she could actually feel the vibrations from the noise pass through her. She sucked in as much air as her lungs would hold, then came the gunshot.
