Mason heard a loud crash, and realized that the door had been thrown open. He quickly turned to the lit candles, and blew them out. He then turned to Charlotte, and grabbed her by the shoulders.

It was morning and the bright sun nearly blinded me. I grunted as I sat up and stretched, before standing up. "I should go to the library..." I started walking, pulling my coat tighter. Mason hefted his bag of provisions over his shoulder, and walked slowly out the door. He walked slowly, but making good time. Why? She didn't have to help me.
