Just felt like writing this. It probably wont end up being very long, so I apologize in advance for that. Matsuri haters are welcome to comment - I love a good debate!

Why I like Matsuri:
Matsuri is not a crowd-following sheep (as mentioned in one of my polls). This shows she is intelligent enough to think for herself, which is an excellent quality. She's brave enough to stand out. She doesn't just mindlessly listen to rumour and believe everything she hears, either. I really hate all the other people in the sand who chose Temari or Kankuro as their sensei, that day.
Matsuri is also really kind and sweet. She doesn't like hurting others and the poor girl has clearly had a sad past, since her parents were killed. Furthermore, she strikes me as being very innocent and young at heart, for some reason. I don't really have any evidence to back this point up, it's just a... feeling. You know, a kind of vibe you get from someone? Anyway...
Another example of her being brave is when she used her rope javelin (I think that's what it's called) to save Gaara. It was her first day as a genin - in fact, I don't think she even was a ninja, yet! She did amazingly well, considering that, not to mention she feared weapons at that time. She's got guts. I bet she grows into a really kick-ass kunoichi.
A lot of people hate Matsuri because of her fangirlish behaviour when Gaara was brought back to life by Granny Chiyo. But really, from one Gaara fan to another, can you BLAME her? If anything, this shows she has good taste! Plus, unlike her friend Sari, she clearly does not like Gaara simply because he is Kazekage, because she chose him as her sensei BEFORE he gained that title.
I could go on with my analysis, but I think I've made my point. :D
