MeteoHeroes is the global children’s television sensation which premiered on PBS on Earth day and is already viewed in 145 countries and in 22 languages… most of the countries attached to the Paris Accord. It’s centered on a group of six pint-sized superheroes, each of whom represents a different continent. They travel the globe to fight Climate Change disasters using their unique superhuman abilities to control weather phenomena. With humor and respect for its audience, the series sends an important message to children “you don’t need superpowers to save the world.” MeteoHeroes is the only children’s series dedicated entirely to climate and environmental issues.
“It’s amazing how quickly the MeteoHeroes have become part of the fabric of life. The Sunnys are just one way the MeteoHeroes are establishing themselves as a bellwether for change. Good for Earth… Good for you. I’m so proud to be part of this brilliant and extremely timely series” said Kenn Viselman. who has created an empire by marketing and monetizing entertainment through his unique use of storytelling.
Luigi Latini, creator of MeteoHeroes, says, “This international award was created to emphasize the qualities of those who fight for the environment and those who are committed to the Planet. Until recently, those who had the mission of safeguarding the splendid place we live were underestimated and almost derided, but now we want to give a voice and give recognition to those who believe in this mission and help others find strength and courage to become real-life MeteoHeroes.”
The World Premiere of Season II of MeteoHeroes (52 episodes x 13') will air on Cartoonito in Italy in April 2022. MeteoHeroes is already among the most successful Cartoonito children’s series of all time in Italy and the same rings true in Spain on Clan and several other countries around the globe. Combined with an original companion series, “Real Superheroes Don’t Wear Capes,” executive produced by Viselman, MeteoHeroes is planned to premiere in late summer 2022 on PBS.
The awards are presented by Kid’s First (a project of the national nonprofit coalition for Quality Children’s Media), Mondo TV Studios (part of Mondo TV Group one of the largest European producers and distributors of animated content), and Kenn Viselman presents (global family mega-hit maker including Teletubbies, Thomas the Tank Engine which has amassed over $25 Billion dollars in the world of children & family Entertainment). The First Annual North American MeteoHeroes Sunny Awards were announced in time for Earth Day ‘22 and for the launch of the MeteoHeroes Special: And the Adventure Begins on PBS in America.
