Garth was born to Solomon and Gaynor Marenghi in Leytonstone, and spent his childhood in Romford, recovering from jaundice. He published his first book, Slicer, while still working in a small advertising firm in Soho. The financial success of his third novel, Black Fang, finally allowed him to leave his job and take up writing full-time.
In total, he has written countless blood-curdling novels, as well as numerous short stories and horror poems. Garth Marenghi, titan of terror, lives in Barnes with his wife Pam and his four daughters, Meredith, Jocasta, Katrina, and one that has yet to be named.
Rick Dagless
A maverick doctor haunted by the demons of his past, who must now fight an everlasting battle with the forces of darkness whilst dealing with the burden of day to day admin. Dagless is an ex-warlock, having renounced the occult in favour of the stability of the medical profession.
Madeleine Wool’s history is wrapped in secrets (partly because no-one ever asked). One of the best animal impersonators of this or any other age, she is currently missing, presumed dead. Dean believes she is burried in the east building.
Liz Asher
Lady doctor with psychic powers. Liz joins Dagless’s team after seeing hell opening beneath Darkplace Hospital. Able to perform stunning feats of telekinesis, Liz is nevertheless afflicted with emotional instability, like most women.
Star of over sixty horror films, Rivers was the bright B-movie hope of his generation, until drink and womanising took its toll. Recent appearances in The Bill and Holby City, however speak of an actor returning to his best form. An accomplished rock singer/songwriter, he is perhaps most famous for his Lucky Dip LP, featuring the tracks Hot Woman (When You’re Going Down) and One Track Lover, which is featured in Episode 6 of Darkplace.
Dr Lucian Sanchez
Hot-shot surgeon Sanchez served alongside Dagless in ‘Nam.’ A student of martial arts and Eastern lore, he has pledged a sacred oath to uphold justice, which he does his best to keep.
