" In my opinion it's the writing that makes it so unique."
Congrats and NOSNDNAS AMBER!!! ;) You're the first ever FOTM for the Gilmore Girls spot, and I cannot think of a better person. You're an amazing GG fan and friend, and I'm so happy you've managed to bring this spot back to life. And you've got some great answers in this interview. Off we go!!

1. How did you get started watching Gilmore Girls?

This is actually kind of a funny story. I had convinced myself that Gilmore Girls was this bad "grown-up" show, so I didn't want to turn it on while anyone else was in the room in case I would get in trouble. Finally I turned it on ABC family one morning when I was the only one in the room. It was the episode where Lorelai and Rory go on the road trip to Harvard. I loved it. The next time that I was home alone, I forgot that it was on until about the last five minutes of that episode. I had told myslef that if I liked this episode as much as I liked the other, that I would tell my mom about it and make her watch it with me. Well, I turned it over there and I saw Lorelai and Rory arguing about the fact that Rory had just lost her virginity to a married Dean. Let's just say that I didn't tell my mom about Gilmore Girls until a couple of years later :P

2. Would you consider Gilmore Girls to be your favorite TV show?

For the longest time, Gilmore Girls was my absolute favorite show, but recently One Tree Hill has become tied with it as my favorite. I can't even think about not having Gilmore Girls as my number one, so I'll just say that they are tied.

3. What makes the show unique compared to other shows that have been or are currently on TV?

In my opinion it's the writing that makes it so unique. I can't think of another show that has as many pop references about history, books, music, movies, television etc. as Gilmore Girls does. I mean, none of the other shows that I have on DVD came with their own "Gilmorisms" book, lol. And on top of all of these references the dialogue is delivered so quickly that I'm surprised that Lauren and Alexis didn't end up with a speech impediment by the time the show was over!

"There are amazing scenes for just about every relationship I love, plus my favorite Jess (you all knew that I was going to bring him up eventually!) come from this season."
"There are amazing scenes for just about every relationship I love, plus my favorite Jess (you all knew that I was going to bring him up eventually!) come from this season."

4. What is your favorite season for Gilmore Girls and why?

My favorite season seems to change all the time, but for a while now its been Season 2. So many of my favorite episodes come from this season. There are amazing scenes for just about every relationship I love, plus my favorite Jess (you all knew that I was going to bring him up eventually!) come from this season. The only season that comes close to Season 2 is Season 3, and you all know why ;)

5. Gilmore Girls has a lot of fabulous and unique characters; who are your top 3?

Hmm...this one was actually hard. My top two are Jess and Lorelai, but I really had to think of who my third favorite is. I'm trying to think of somebody who I loved throughout all of the seasons, and I'm coming up blank. I adored Rory throughout most of the first 4 seasons, but I don't really like her once she begins to rebel and use her 'Bambi voice'. My next choice would have been Luke, but during the whole April fiasco, I really didn't like him. There was actually an episode (Vineyard Valentine) where I actually, horror of all horrors, prefered Logan to Luke *shudder*. After thinking about this forever, I have decided that my top three are:
-Jess
-Lorelai
*drum roll please*
-Paris.

6. We all know Lorelai is know for her hilarious quotes, what are your top 5?

I'm going to try to stay away from "Oy, with the poodles already." and "Copper Boom!" :) These are in no order, cause there is no way that I could order them!

- No, Rory, you didn't. You're 19, you're in college, you can handle your own affairs. Sorry, that's a bad choice of words, you can handle your own life events.

- Just once I’d like to be able to say, "Yeah, I’m not feeling so good, my leg is haunted!".

-Well, I'm attracted to pie, but I don't feel the need to date pie!

- I think I forgot to put on underwear, can you check?... Did I just ask you to check if I put on underwear?...I hate football!

-Oh I cant stop drinking the coffee, if I stop drinking the coffee, I stop doing the standing and walking and the words putting into sentence doing.

7. Which character on the show do you personally relate to the most?

I relate to Rory the most. Well, before she slept with Dean, stole a yacht, etc. We are both quiet book worms with loud moms :D

" Of course Rory and Jess! They were my OTP for the longest time before Leyton. They have the most amazing chemistry of any couple on the show <3"
" Of course Rory and Jess! They were my OTP for the longest time before Leyton. They have the most amazing chemistry of any couple on the show <3"

8. Time to get to the good stuff ;) Who do you ship in the Rory/Dean/Jess/Logan love rectangle?

Wow, I have to think about this, I can't choose between Rory/Dean and Rory/Logan! I love both so much!

*Giving all of the people that know me time to recover from their collective heart attacks*

Of course Rory and Jess! They were my OTP for the longest time before Leyton. They have the most amazing chemistry of any couple on the show <3

9. Most fans are in 2 categories regarding Lorelai's relationships Pro-Luke/Lorelai and Against, either liking Christopher or Max usually. Which fan are you?

I am defintely Pro-Luke&Lorelai. They are my second favorite couple on the show. I am still beyond crushed that they didn't get married and have their twins by the end of the show. I am still so bitter at the Palladinos for ruining their story in Season 6 :/

" Hands down, my favorite non-romantic relationship is Luke and Jess."

10. GG has a lot of wonderful non-romantic relationships as well. What is your favorite EXCLUDING Lorelai/Rory?

Hands down, my favorite non-romantic relationship is Luke and Jess. Although it's kind of sad that Luke is the only person in Jess's family that seems to even care about him, I still adore their scenes together. Whether Luke is pushing Jess in the lake, or Jess is thanking Luke and paying him back once his novel was published, I love every single moment. Even when Luke "kicks" Jess out, I still feel sorry for both of them. One of my absolute favorite moments of the show, that really shows how much Luke cares for Jess is when Luke goes to see Jimmy at the hotel. Luke tells him that if he hurts Jess in anyway he's going to put Jimmy's head through a wall. Such an underrated scene, but one that really speaks volumes for their relationship.

11. Who is your favorite Stars Hollow Townie that has side role on the show?

So hard to pick! I love all of them so much! Umm...I think that I'll go with the obvious and pick Kirk. No matter how many times I see some of his scenes, I can't help but laugh. He is hilarious! I still wish that we had gotten to meet his mother, lol.

12. Would you like to live in a town like Stars Hollow or is it too small?

I would jump at the chance to live in Stars Hollow. I think that it would be nice to live in a town that small. Sure, everybody would know your business, but you would also have a town full of people supporting you and protecting you. Plus I would love to sit in Luke's and drink some coffee with Lorelai and Rory.

"The dance marathon would be so much fun, especially dressing up in the 40's outfits. "
"The dance marathon would be so much fun, especially dressing up in the 40's outfits. "

13. I've always wanted to go to awesome events Stars Hollow is always holding. If you could, which ones would you go to?

There are so many to pick from! I think that I would most want to go to either the Dance Marathon or the Winter Carnival. The dance marathon would be so much fun, especially dressing up in the 40's outfits. As long as I don't have to eat any of Mrs. Kim's eggless egg salad sandwiches. The winter carnival would also be really fun, especially if I get my fortune told by Paul Anka the Doggie Swami.

14. Many people think the show took a turn for the worse when they brought in April as Luke's daughter. What did you think of this storyline?

God, you have no idea how much I loathe this storyline! I think that April's nickname should be The Shark. I am still bitter about it. It was so OOC for Luke. Everything was so messed up with the supposed relationship of Luke and Anna, as well. I have still been unable to figure it out. For instance in Season 1, as soon as Lorelai said something about Luke freaking out about the sweatshirt that she had on, Miss Patty and Sookie were automatically able to point that to Rachel. Now five years later there is another girl that he was so involved with that they had a daughter together! Not to mention the fact that they used the same actress to play Anna that had played the girlfriend of Jess's dad. Continuity, thy name is not Amy.

15. What did you think of Season 7 when creator Amy Sherman-Palldino had left the show?

I honestly think that David Rosenthal did a pretty good job of cleaning up the mess that ASP left behind. I just wish that he could have thought of a way to cut the Chris and Lorelai storyline wayyyyy down, not have Rory and Logan sexting each other, brought Luke and Lorelai together much sooner than he did (a kiss that's all we get?!), and I would loved for him to have brought Jess back for at least the finale. I loved that he was able to redeem Rory's character a little bit, because I loved her so much more in Season 7 than I did in either Season 5 or Season 6. I could also tolerate Logan during this season, which is an amazing accomplishment on my part.

16. What was the most heartbreaking scene on GG?

Once again, there are so many scenes that I could pick for this. There are countless Rory/Jess and Luke/Lorelai scenes that I could pick. I think that I am going to have to go with the scene in the finale when Lorelai watches Rory sleep on her last night at home. It is so heartbreaking and I cry every single time I watch it. Amazing acting from Lauren, no words are needed at all.

17. What music from the show sticks out in your mind, and helped make a certain scene?

Ummm...I think that I'll go with the song that is playing in "Lorelai's Graduation Day" when Rory gets off of the phone with Jess. All that you can here is "In the name of love" but that has always stuck out to me. Especially since at this time Rory was still 'in love' with Dean, and then at the end of the episode Lorelai tells her that she thinks that Rory has feelings for Jess. I looked it up and the song is called "Dance This Mess Around" by the B-52s.

18. What episode is your favorite to go back and rewatch over and over again?

I can watch pretty much any episode in Season 2 multiple times. My top two would probably be "Like Mother, Like Daughter" and "Lorelai's Graduation Day". I love both of them so much, and they just never get boring to me.

"I did love that Luke and Lorelai got together, but I'm still bitter that we didn't get a wedding and family like we should have gotten! "

19. What are your thoughts on the finale of GG? Did they end on a good note, or should it have ended earlier/later?

I thought that the finale seemed a lot more like a season finale than a series finale. I did love that Luke and Lorelai got together, but I'm still bitter that we didn't get a wedding and family like we should have gotten! I loved the party for Rory, I just wish that she could have turned around and seen Jess or something. My favorite thing about the finale was that they had it end with Luke, Lorelai, and Rory alone in Luke's with the same window shot that they had in the pilot.

I think that they should have kept it going longer. I would have loved to have done a One Tree Hill type time jump and have Season 8 open up with Luke and Lorelai's wedding day with Rory done with the campaign trail. Jess would be there as the best man and he and Rory would get back together, and....I have thought about this way too much, lol.

I am glad that they didn't end it in Season 6, because I would have gone crazy if the very last thing that we saw of the show was Lorelai in Chris's apartment!

20. What would you tell people about GG if you wanted to convince them to watch the show?

I would tell them that Gilmore Girls is centered around the relationship of a mother and daughter. I would tell them that there are so many quirky eccentric characters, that it doesn't matter whether they like any of the couples or if they even like the main characters.
Most of all I would tell them that I like it, so it must be good :P
